What are you doing man. just backcheck the way you're supposed to.
Huberdeau is extremely frustrating to watch in pretty much every zone. I can't watch him and help but wonder how he ever got over 100 points in one season.

Ruzicka has really grown this season with his confidence. He isn’t Calder eligible anymore, right? Would have been awesome if he was, because he would definitely have been an early contender.

So true. The bum had seasons of 92 and 78(96 point pace) points prior to having a fluke season last season of 115 points and a record for a left wing 85 assists.

It's not like he trajectory was trending towards a 100 point player

Flames played a great game last night.

Mangiapane and Dube looked good.

Vladar is a manimal in net.

I sincerely hope this trend continues. For my blood pressure mainly.

I think Ruzicka is the biggest find this year and Vladar most improved.

That's it. That's the list.

Not even Mavi.
i didn't look up actual minutes but my point was our top players should have top minutes like most teams, edmonton is an exception, i didn't look up ice times i thought 20-23 mins sounded like what a top player would get.

That's the thing. When you look up actual minutes, the Flames' top players aren't all that far short.

Part of the issue is the frequent line juggling, and Lindholm, Kadri, Huberdeau, and Mangiapane all going through long slumps where their ice time was justifiably reduced. There really haven't been three players that you could point to and say, ‘Those guys are our top line every night.’ So the minutes get spread around even more.

Once Huberdeau figures out his teammates and vice versa, we'll probably see a definite top line emerge and get more minutes.

At this point who is our top player? I don’t think we have one.

On a per game basis maybe. But not consistently.

I didn't say it was a fluke. I am saying based on what we have seen from him this season, it's hard to see how he did it in the past. Nothing he is doing is working.

If trajectory is what matters, then what trajectory do you see him on now?

No, because that would imply the seasoned coach might know what he's doing with young players.

His game is currently 100% then the Florida games I watched. I watched almost all of the Florida games after Sam got traded there and he wasn't afraid to backcheck, but he was all risky passes all day long. He's a very different player here

It's funny how some of the posters that consistently hated on Gaudreau wouldn't hesitate to post after a loss that the best players let the team down.

Huberdeau still in the adjustment period I guess but still waiting for him to be the best player in a game. It hasn't happened yet to my recollection.

I am curious as to how long an adjustment period should be before we can conclude that he just isn't as good as advertised. I am starting to get the feeling that Huberdeau's success in Florida was more a product of the team than the individual player.

Huberdeau is very disappointing so far. He hasn't been playing even close to the type of player that should be signed to what he got, and if he doesn't improve an awful lot it is going to be a disaster for the Flames with a contract that could be on par with the Niel signing.

He's obviously really skilled. Nobody just flukes their way into a 115 point season. That said, he hasn't been showing it so far and it could be that he's not a fit on this team for some reason, which would still be a big, big problem if it isn't worked out.

With his contract, you make the team fit him.

It's not the players guys, it's the system. We're the only team in the league without a 20 point player.
