Isn't hearing protection required for anything over 85db?

I always thought the music was not loud enough when attending a game. Always wished they would crank it up and get the crowd more involved.

But now I'm older and think it's to loud. I would be okay with pumping up the volume at certain times.

Beginning of the game, after a goal, start of a powerplay..etc But during commercials, icings and offsides it doesn't need to be cranked. Also would be okay with the increased volume during the playoffs or for the goal horn.

Yes, for prolonged exposure of, I think, 15 minutes?

My ears have been ringing after driving my convertible at highways speeds due to wind buffeting, trucks, etc. DBs are consistently peaking at over 85db. I bought some filtering ear plugs to take the sound down by 20db but still let me hear my surroundings, and they've been good.

I wish I had them for the young stars tournament in Penticton, that was brutally loud.

Seems fine to me, playoffs were loud but even then I was able to talk to people next to me.

It’s definitely louder and I’m definitely getting older.

I’ve cut down to one or two games a year just because the game experience is so loud and obnoxious. I don’t understand why they have a guy constantly shouting at you at every break. During the intermissions it’s blasting commercials so loud you can’t talk to anyone. Even the interviews with Parker are extremely loud like they’re trying to ensure people in the washroom on the lower concourse can still listen.

No I don’t want to go somewhere and listen to “TO THE LOUDEST FANS IN SECTION 218!!!!!! LETS HEAR IT!!!!”

I haven't been to the Saddledome in a long time, but new rinks like the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas are disturbingly loud. Their subwoofers make your clothing dance.

I read this in the voice of your avatar.

Did they replace whoever was in charge of the music yet? I saw smalltown DJs did the intro, but were they there the whole game? If so thank God.

Whoever has done the music for the dome for the past years has been absolutely horrible. Terrible music selection. I get you have to cater to different crowds and different genres of course.

I specifically remember in the playoffs an important face off with the goalie pulled and they were playing Layla. Just horrible for trying to get the crowd involved.

Beasley is super embarrassing too.

There's a way to get the crowd engaged without having to turn the volume to 11. Case in point is Staples Center/Crypto.com Arena. Great in-game experience without getting blown away.

Part of it is the acoustics of the old concrete building. It's not just that it's loud, it feels like it's coming from all directions. I haven't been to the Dome in a few years, but it's always been an issue there.

I've definitely noticed this in 219 and 206. I assumed they upgraded the speakers during COVID, but then again, they probably just turned it to 11.

It's one thing when its music and even during the game, but during intermissions last year it was that amateur house band doing various Top 40 covers. We had to leave for the concourse it was so bad.

The music can be loud but to me the problem is the give away guy (Beasley?) having his mike at 11+ and screaming every time he comes out. Brutal.
