And it takes no time. With MJ, you put in your text prompt and withing 60 seconds you have four images based off of your prompt, then you just choose what you want to render at higher resolution or have more variations of and 60 seconds later you're done.

MidJourney is accessed via Discord. You join their Discord server and the you use commands in chat channels to input text prompts. It renders images and posts them in the chat channel. It's the only one I've used that's Discord based like this.

I feel bad for the artist community, there is no way this doesn't hugely impact them going forward. However, I'm ready for AI to wipe out the contract lawyers. There is no way what they do is worth the money it costs.

Anyone not in a field like nursing, childcare, plumbing, carpentry or other such fields that require dynamic, hands-on physical interaction or personal care has AI coming to compete with them too.

As a society we really need to move away from capitalism very soon, because the way technology is advancing and the way our society is currently set up, we're already seeing a situation where the rich are getting richer at an increasing speed.

If money keeps being funneled to people mostly based on them being able to claim they own things, and AI:s start replacing the workforce, inequality is going to be supercharged in a way we can't really even understand yet.

I have been having a lot of fun with Midjourney.... too much fun. Iteration after iteration after just throwing some crazy ideas at it and going... "huh, that's so amazing that I want to print this out for art".

Absolutely nuts. The 200 for the basic subscription doesn't go far after getting hooked on it.

Celebrity deepfake porn has been a business for a while now.

Really the only "limiting factor" in those is the same that seems to be an issue with the newer AI:s too; varying expressions are still extremely hard for an AI. Or to put it another way, humans are extremely sensitive to faces being even a little off.

I'm guessing it'll still take some time to get those right, but the AI:s will get there.

And while people will use them to make porn, they'll probably also just use it to create those perfect instagram selfies. You don't even have to fake happiness anymore.
