Yeah, he's not going to blow the whistle during an attack like that, not much to complain about there.

But if Senegal had planned to defend all night they need to do a better job than that.

This should be a good half though, Senegal have to go for it but England are going to play training-ground keep-ball.

So its either going to be awesome or boring as all hell.

Saka for Trippier vs the French. Gotta do 3 CB’s.

Thats pretty much the only silver lining for neutrals, that match is going to be insane.

Two teams playing really well.

The biggest mistake Southgate could make is too many subs right now, I know he wants to protect and rest his players but he can also let them get into a groove because that French team is firing on all cylinders.

Some fun quarter finals lined up so far. Netherlands vs Argentina and England vs France will both be fun.

Subjective but the two best teams in the tournament meeting in that quarter in my opinion. With Neymar out now I don't really see anyone in Argentina's class in the other half bracket if they execute but they don't have the depth of dynamic attacking players those two countries do

Yeah, I dont think Neymar is out, I think they just rested him because he took an ankle knock, I read that he was taking part in training and prepared to play tomorrow, they played their entire 3rd string against Cameroon.

Either way though, that being said this ain't your grand-pappy's Brazil...even without Neymar or Jesus they are still a ridiculously deep team with lots of attacking options. They're not dependent on just Neymar to see them through anymore.

As usual, if Brazil have any deficiencies its in that back line.

At midfield, forward and goal they have options galore.

Brazil are the deepest team they basically destroyed Cameroon in the second half but couldn't finish with secondary options playing.

This isn't 2014 or 2018. A lot of guys sitting could be starting.

Hard for me to consider Brazil a deep team when they have Fred and Antony.

Why wasnt Raheem Sterling there today? He went back to England due to an armed robbery at his house. Cant blame the guy.

AL KHOR, Qatar -- Raheem Sterling will fly back to England after missing the 3-0 World Cup round-of-16 win over Senegal, the Football Association (FA) confirmed on Sunday, with sources telling ESPN his house was the target of an armed robbery.

Good for the tournament to have Neymar. Brazil are obviously very good but when you look at their lineup there is a real lack of international goals. Dani alves the defender is fourth on the team in int goals with 8. And two of the top three scorers in Jesus and Newmar are not at full fitness.

As someone said they are a different Brazil team playing more like what you'd expect out of Italy with a lot more structure and defending. I see a bit of a lack of firepower but their path to the semis is gonna be the easiest of any of the big nations with all due respect to the teams they will play. South Korea and croatia or Japan are different level from France England Argentina
