Ross Brawn has been playing too much Mario Kart. That is literally one step away from giving the following cars shells to fire or a car in last an EMP to wipe out MGU-K on the leading cars.
If DRS is to remain, I do think limits should be placed on DRS. Give the car behind 5 laps to overtake and then no DRS for you.
That should break up the DRS trains at certain circuits.
DRS, Attack Mode and Push to Pass all have their drawbacks. I don't think IMSA/WEC uses any form of overtake system nor does MotoGP. Nascar has dumb AF stage racing, although there is talk of doing away with post-stage yellows.
I've been pining for refueling to come back to F1, but think it's more wishing for the past rather than a belief it will have any real impact on the quality of the racing. IndyCar has refueling and it doesn't really change much.
If you had the power to change one thing about F1, what would it be and why?

I think all motorsports have gone past their peak and have shifted so far from a coarse rudimentary machine that relied more on driver ability than tech to win, that there is little that can be done at this point.
I have no doubt MV or LH are better drivers than many of the rest of the field, but if Max and Lando swapped seats I don't think you would see a drastic difference in where their respective cars finish on most days. The teams and designers are winning races now and this means it's only going to get more gimmicky.
There's no road back either, cars are designed to keep a driver safe so in a sport like nascar there is no way to go back to using a stock car as your base. In F1 part of the viability of the sport is the technology advances so it can only move forward. Personally I'd get rid of the hybrid powerplants and go back to pure ICE. No more power saving, kers, boost, multiple power modes. But I'm probably out to lunch, that might just make the fast cars faster and slow cars slower. I do know that I don't want to see what is happening in Indy with one chassis manufacturer and a couple engine choices.

Great question...I'm not sure I'd waste my genie wish on killing DRS, but it's also hard to think of any other single move I'd like more.
Even though Qualifying is very good as it is, I'd change Q3 to be 1-shot quali like the mid 2000s. Q2 sets the running order. It would really dial up the pressure and see a few more mixed up grids - when drivers get 2 chances it almost always undoes any mistakes. I'd like to see each car actually run the whole course and not just watch a half-dozen clock icons as the session ends. No more traffic, no more excuses.
Would need to trim Q1 and Q2 by ~3 mins each.
Give me a bonus tweak of DRS where you get it for the first ~half of a straight instead of the second half - that way drivers have to actually finish the move without any advantage.
My one wish? Bring back full blown experimentation by teams. Stop with the uniform design. What makes F1 great was how teams pushed boundaries in every imaginable way. Not just within set parameters. Where else would you have seen a 6 wheel or TurboFan race car? Adaptive suspension? Yeah.
Actually, scrap that, my wish is for adaptive suspension. Go all in or fold up shop.

This popped up on YT for some reason. There is likely a full explanation of WTF is going on here but it’s hilarious. Must watch on YT because F1 are knobs.
