^ it seems plausible that eventually Darryl will give the top line more leeway to be more creative and play to their individual strengths. But there's a level of trust that needs to be built up first. It takes time, but they're getting there. I'm not as pessimistic about Huby's contract as you are. He will probably never reach 115 points again, but he's probably a 90ish point per year guy going forward.

Gaudreau isn't exactly on a 115 point pace either. Can't expect that every season. It's more when you score and how you check that matters anyway.

Avs didn't have the top scorers last season

He is on a 92 point pace, which is pretty good.

Hubby has cracked the 50 point pace now.

Huby wouldn't be the first player to not immediately gel with Sutter, but heat up after a while though. Not worried yet.

I'm not bitter about John anymore, but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this result. Congrats man, this is your life now.

What a jabroni. I'm sure he tosses and turns every night knowing he could have stayed here and been on the bubble! The BUBBBLE I tell you!

Calgary has a way better chance of turning it up and becoming a sure playoff team than Columbus. They were just pitiful last night.

Calgary is already turning it up a notch I think.

Gotta admit though

Gaudreau-Bedard-Laine

That will help pad his stats for a while even if the rest of the team is garbage.

For some reason, Bedard seems destined to Chicago.

And teams don't necessarily stay garbage forever.

I think this is unfair. You can't compare any sports franchise to the Edmonton Oilers, their No Goodness goes beyond time and space itself.

It's why I said "necessarily" LOL.

And don't forget, Edmonton made it's way to the final 4 last year.

Yeah, that little blip on the radar last year did not in any way change the fact that the Oilers are garbage.

LA had no experience but nearly beat them

we were sabotaged by a bad goalie who was letting every third shot by him

stick that markstrom behind any good team and they would be in trouble too

it was hardly an impressive feat in retrospect

The Oilers got the Kings in the 1st round who were the worst team in the playoffs last year.

Then they got us who became the worst team remaining in the playoffs.

Gaudreau leads his team with 29 points, next is Jenner @ 19, then Johnson @ 13

Right now:

Monahan + Gaudreau + Tkachuk = 83 Points
Huberdeau + Kadri + Weegar = 42 Points

Monahan + Gaudreau + Tkachuk = not in a playoff spot
Huberdeau + Kadri + Weegar = in a playoff spot
