Sharks Finally Name Team Captains
The San Jose Sharks haven't yet named a Captain or any assistant captains yet this season. Taking a real Darryl Sutter approach, the Sharks GM wanted to wait and see who has emerged as a true leader.
With the Sharks sitting #1 in the league all season, the entire team has shown they have bought into the system, everyone playing a very unique, complimentary roll to get wins. That's what it is all about...winning.
That brings us to today.
Who is the new Captain? There are a lot of solid Candidates...
Patrice Bergeron - The Best 2-Way forward in the world
Nazem Kadri - The perfect combination of grit and skill; the heart of a champion
Brady Tkachuk - A young dominant power forward
Patric Hornqvist - The aging vet and maybe the last kick at the can
Alex Pietrangelo - A true warrior and one of the best D in the world
Jacob Trouba - The D version of Kadri
Well, while all these guys are studs (except Hornqvist he's just old), it is none of these fine gentlemen.
The new Captain of the San Jose Sharks is...
Sean Monahan.
He's a beauty. He has accepted his role centering the 3rd line, he currently sits 6th in team scoring. He has (by far) the best hair on the entire team and a quiet confidence that the entire team has learned to embrace.
Sean Monahan is our leader, our Captain.
And we love him.
Assistants are Bergeron and Pietrangelo.
