Default Old Time Hockey

I just watched the whole Leafs/Kings Game 1 of the 1993 Conference Finals for the first time since it was live. Great hockey. It’s funny how certain present day “infractions” happened back then and the fans didn’t even react.

Doug Gilmour was so dominant in the game. Reminded me of a vintage Iginla performance, honestly. I was too young to truly appreciate how great a performance it was at the time, but he took over the game.

Made me wish I could watch the whole Flames Cup run in 1989. The Gilmour/Macoun trade has got to be the worst moment in the history of the Flames.

McSorley was such a dirty player. I had seen replays of that elbowing major before but not in the context of Gilmour completely taking over the game for the Leafs just prior. Dale Hunter got suspended for 21 games for hitting someone after a goal and McSorley got…what?
