Default Prague, Czech Republic suggestions for groups of adult hockey players

I own a company that travels around the world hosting adult hockey tournaments. Most of our stuff is North America but we hosted in Reykjavik, Iceland this past January. It was such a blast that we are going back to play again in May (if that's a bucket list for anyone).

We had a number of of beer league group ask about Prague. We are setting up a tournament there in Mid October 2023. I've never been so I'm curious if we have any Czech Republic experts in here that a have some insight. Outside of cheap beer (we are beer leaguers after all) I'm not sure what kind of cool things to get organized for the group. I know there's a lot of castles but other than that I'm uneducated on the place. I know I can google (and I will) but was curious if there were any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

I think there is a user here (Calgaryboy? I might be wrong) who has visited Calgary a few times and is from Czechia. He could be a great resource for hockey information as well as other "must do's" from there. Good luck and sounds like a great time.

I wonder what the sentiment on the name Czechia is overall? We met a couple here at a concert two weeks ago who said they were from the Czech Republic. I drunkenly said "isn't it Czechia now".

They launched into a drunken rant, talking over each other to explain how every one thinks its the stupidest thing ever and still refer to it as Czech Republic unless in official documents/media etc.

But they were two drunk people, and everyone likes to project their own feelings onto their country's so who knows.

Prague is really nice /tons of material on the internet where to go/. But there are also many other lovely places /for you Canadiens/ "nearby." So I will not talk about Prague, but will give you tips for other places. Karlovy Vary worth visiting, biggest spa town in the Czech Republic. Then for sure Southern Bohemia - Cesky Krumlov and Hluboka nad Vltavou /chateau/ as top priorities in there. Then, Southern Moravia /where I come from/. Only 2,5 hours drive and you will see so many lovely places, chateaus and castles. Lednice castle - number 1 tourist spot in the Czech Republic. Lovely Buchlov castle, Buchlovice chateau, Valtice chateau, Vranov nad Dyji chateau, Milotice chateau. And vinery all around. Southern Moravia is known for probably the best wine in the world. So definitely if you come, you should not miss this lovely part of our country.

If you decide to come to Southern Moravia, you can let me know, and I can show you around, give some advice. No problem. A few CPers were here before and I showed them around /Aeneas, FurnaceFace, STeeLy/

Hope I helped you a little bit :-)

Go Flames!

Absolutely. Name "Czechia" is the worst and there is nobody who would like it in here. Just disgusting. For all of us it is Czech Republic and this "Czechia" nonsense can go to hell :-)

Bohemia.

Prague is a gorgeous city. So many great Art Deco style buildings, so much to see.

As CB says there is lots to see in the other parts of the country.
