Merc got busted for cooling fuel. Shocked that only got a fine and not a grid penalty. Guess it would be different if it was quali.

Good on you Leclerc. What a beast. Vettel looks dejected.

Wow. Did not see that coming from Ferrari...at all. Great performance by Leclerc. The new front wing and floor is clearly working for them. This was supposed to be a tough track for them being high downforce.

Should be pretty entertaining tomorrow. I hope that the qualifying leads to some passing...despite being pretty difficult at Singapore

They said it was only because it happened during free practice. Had it been qualifying or race it would be alit stiffer. Plus it was only 11c different vs the allowable 10c

Just got a chance to watch the race. That was a fun one.

Continuing my streak of awful picks though

Sooo...another rather poor showing by us all. The moral of that story is don't follow my picks, hahaha.

What a surprise performance by Ferrari. Of course they still managed to kind of screw it up by letting Vettel undercut Leclerc, but they were the class of the field this weekend.

Couple of notes...Btimbit, despite your "awful picks" you did have the best showing of those that got their picks in this race. RatherDashing + GreatWhiteEbola scored better but they missed their picks so I copied their picks from Italy.

3thirty extended his lead, albeit rather slightly. Fuzz got passed by Jayswin for 3rd in a really tight battle.

3thirty also maintains his lead in the most correct picks and remains 3 ahead of Jayswins.

As always, let me know if you see any mistakes.

Spoiler!

Finally...I'm starting to compile a "rules" proposal list for next year. If you have suggestions PM me and I can add them. We can also do an entry fee, say $10 again (max) and if someone gets to a race can grab a trinket or something fun for 2nd/3rd/most correct etc. (same as this year).

Currently have the following: 1) Inverted scoring (pick P10 right, get 1st place points) 2) Can miss 3 weeks max (1st - copy picks latest race, 2nd - last year same race, 3rd time - lowest points that week) 3) Hard cutoff of Friday midnight MST.

And for those curious about the "inverted scoring"...here is what it would look like. It really tightens everything up.

3thirty still leads the pack. But Speede5, jesus H. You go from the bottom to 2nd. Your earlier picks nailed the bottom end.

Cant say I like it, lol, but 26pts covering 1st through 5th could make it a lot more interesting.

Spoiler!

And moves me to dead last!

Man I really coasted on the easy Hamilton - Bottas 1-2 picks early in the year haha

What the hell? I stopped checking the results like 4 races ago because I figured I was near the bottom. I guess I moved up at some point!

Last lap battle for 11th. Didn’t make the broadcast. Phenomenal driving by Stroll and generally a great clip of the precision these guys drive with. Worth a watch. Sainz, Ric, Stroll.

Same battle with different onboards. Seeing how close Stroll gets to the back of Sainz is remarkable.

If Stroll could ever figure out how to qualify, he'd be in the points a lot more often. His racecraft is pretty good, he just sucks on Saturday.

Just watched the race last night.

Watching those guys putt around for the first stint was what mildly annoying. Leclerc had no chance to win the race on that strategy, even with a pitstop that was 0.7s quicker than Vettel.

Vettel did a much better job of getting through the long running midfield cars than Leclerc. It would have been criminal to swap them.

Was great to see Gio lead for a while. That's a memory he won't soon forget. Strong run from Gasly as well.

I found it interesting that Indy ran at Laguna Seca on a high wear track and produced fantastic racing. Maybe high deg is the way to go to produce better racing.
