You have listed the worst possible chains imaginable there. You have some really intense hatred going on for Red Robins if you'd put McDs and A&W above it.

+1 for the Myra Canyon Trestles, and a write-in ballot for Moo-lix Ice Cream downtown for a nice way to cool off. Grab some ice cream and walk on the docks across the street!

Mile High Wine & Music Festival
https://www.tourismkelowna.com/event...estival/12394/

Date: August 10, 2018 - August 12, 2018

The Okanagan Wine Festivals and SilverStar are proud to bring back Canada’s highest outdoor wine tasting - with numerous British Columbia wineries, wine pairings, and live music to entertain you. Not only will you learn how these Okanagan wines are produced, but you will have a chance to sample them and discuss as well.

I live there. Here are my favorites, many have been mentioned:

Gasthaus in Peachland for Dinner, do it, thank us later.

Raudz-kinda surprised at the negative reviews-it is one of my favorites downtown

Doc Willoughby's-good for food and drinks, good place to crush pints on the patio, wear sunglasses or the wife will probably get cross-eyed mad at you for your wandering eye

Pearson's deli-great for a casual lunch-not that convenient of a location for the tourist crowd as it is more in the Orchard Park area

Eldorado Hotel-Sunday Brunch is expensive but just a nice way to start the day in the summer.

Others:
Rose's Pub at The Grand for nightlife-right at the lake, usually really busy during the summer though

BNA for a casual drink-the food there is not great. Located right next to Prospera Place

Smack-Dab at Manteo resort, good pub style food, great lake views

Arrowleaf winery in Lake Country

Too bad, but you will be there for the guys wearing white Oakley, driving jacked up diesel pickups and pulling speedboats festival which runs from about May 24 until early September

BUMP-

Planning out a bachelor party and thinking about doing a wine tour in Kelowna. Has anyone does this before/recommend it? There will be 6 of us and I am looking for a deal on a bus for a few hours to take us around. Would appreciate the help on this and any other ideas!

In before people criticise your bachelor party event choice.

I'd recommend going to Ferrara's Italian Market.

Basil & Mint was nice. Littlest Hobo is good for sandwiches. Buy the Sea is amazing, and is comparable to The Fish Counter in Vancouver.

I've been to Summerhill for dinner. Like most wineries, the view is excellent and the food is meh. Mission Hill's restaurant is excellent, although it is pricey.

If you have time I'd drive down to Oliver and Penticton for better wineries and better food. Here I'd recommend the Miradoro Restaurant at Tinhorn Winery or Vanilla Pod at Poplar Grove for sit down restaurants.

In Oliver I'd recommend Hammer's House of Hog for outstanding pulled pork. It's some of the best I've ever had, and I recently spent a week in Austin, Texas.

For Mexican I'd go to Sofia's in Osoyoos/Oliver. It doesn't look like much, but I'm told it's the best Mexican place by many people. Also, if you look at the patrons, it's where all the local Mexicans eat. It's kind of in a truck next to a fruit stand, but completely worth it. I've only eaten there once, but on a recent trip my traveling partner ate there 5 times.

Orchard Park has some great Japanese food.. I think the place is called "Edo Japan"

We did a limo for 10 people for about 5 hours and about $500 I think it was. Had a blast and our driver pretty much let us do anything we wanted. Can't really remember the name of the company but it was one of the cheaper/lower end ones.

See, initially I was leaning towards breweries and golf.. then going out at night (which will still happen with wine tours) ---> However, I have had at least 4-5 guys tell me that they have done the wine tour before and it is wayyy better than it sounds. That is why I am asking for some advice.

Well at least everyone in your bachelor party likes wine then!

If there's a lot of single guys on the trip, a wine tour would be an excellent way to bump into a bunch of random bachelorette parties.

Until you go and it turns out that all the other tours are just a bunch of middle aged women on vacation and the bachelorette parties rented houseboats and are nowhere to be found.

The wine tours I have been on have not been overly exciting. They talk a little bit about the wine making process, the barrels and then you go and taste some wine. Some charge like $10 or so for five samples, but it is refundable if you buy wine there.

I am not a wine guy, so I went just because the wife asked me to

i did a quick google thing and this was one result that came up....

https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attractio..._Columbia.html

i've heard of (and seen vehicles around) of a number of these tours, but that's about the extent of my knowledge of wine tours.

now, if you want to talk smoking ribs or beef jerky we'll need some time!

hope you guys have fun!

So it’s almost time for this trip... I’m just wondering if there’s anyone on the ground out that way (Kelowna and field) that can give me some insight as to what’s happening. It looks like half the province is burning.

Are the skies really smoky? Any concerns about evacuations or road closures that way? Any and all help is appreciated
