Wait, did she purposely enter Russia with a substance that she ought to have known was likely regulated or banned? If so, that would be next level stupidity or entitlement .

It is funny that the USA is making this out like nothing happened. Try to even tell US border agents that you smoke hash oil, or vape it, on a daily basis and see how long you are banned from entering the USA.

Lol...sure...and then you'd have to be highly wary of any and all passersby carrying umbrellas.

Would the US border agents arrest and detain you for 6 months, and show you a 10 year sentence if you're guilty of possession of 0.702 grams?

And we don't even know if she infact is even guilty, but we know the Russian court will find her very guilty of this heinous crime

If Russian players start to announce that they will not play for Russia going forward, if they draft Fedotov into active service, they might be able to save his career, and maybe his life.
Ovechkin is Putin’s lapdog, what do you think he’ll say?

Lucky for us, someone asked him.

Is the person white? Detained, maybe a misdemeanour. Non white? 10 years sounds about right.

@SlavaMalamud:
Novaya Zemlya, where the would be @NHLFlyers goalie Ivan Fedotov is being sent, is the same place where Putin had sent @navalny's associate Ruslan Shaveddinov.
It's the worst of the worst places in Russia, an island in the Arctic. Soldiers only get to serve there as punishment.

Usually playing for CSKA is considered military service. Going back to the cold war, I don't remember any player being reassigned like this, but then again I've not really followed the history.

This story is actually crazy. Sooooo much corruption in that country.

Ovechkin doesn't even comment? What a coward. When was his military service, btw? He went straight from Dynamo to Washington.

I guess you have to leave the country first and then make it known your not coming back.

Check my post history. I'm probably the biggest Ovi fan on this site.

But my God he has ruined his legacy. I was cheering so hard for him to get the record, but now I'm indifferent. He honestly appeared to be a great guy with story after story coming out about his generosity, community work, etc. Plus nothing about abuse or misconduct in an age when so many are guilty of it.

But then this Putin stuff surfaces and it's all gone. I wish Leonsis would have the balls to confront him, but he won't. Sad.

Kaprizov just had to flee back to the States as he's worried he could end up in a similar situation. This is getting bananas.
