The big US cities have things going on 5-6 nights a week. This arrangement will be way less than that.

Game day skates as well, certianly for AHL and NHL teams aren't possible if there's double headers.

The suggestions of the Heat/Hitmen/Roughnecks playing out of 2-4k arenas when they draw/will draw more than that on average when the Saddledome can easily handle all the teams was absurd.
Just look to bigger US cities. They have arenas that host events most nights of the week during the fall/winter/spring. Hell, they switch from basketball to hockey in the same day sometimes. This was the only outcome the whole time.

Main issue for the teams will be dates. Both the AHL and WHL prefer to play on weekends.
I guess its possible to someone play in the afternoon and someone at night on Saturday and Sundays - but that's a fair bit of wear and tear on the ice.

The Saddledome also has the oldest ice plant in the league if I remember correctly.
Hopefully that doesn't become an issue.

Well best get ready for it. If everyone is playing out of the Saddledome it will be an issue.

Ice quality is by no means great at the Dome. However, I think the ice plant was replaced after being flooded in 2013.

We took a step backward a few times when we realized the water got in over top of the block walls and into the hollow cores. With all the silt, it could become mouldy in the future, so we had to open up all that and clean all that out. A lot of it had piping in it, with insulation on it, so that holds the water so we had to get rid of that.

I'm not a fan of that, why not the Scorch or Heat or something else in theme with the parent club? I'm just not personally a fan of naming sports teams after cowboy themes

The related to the big league team name isn't used that often and having its own brand is probably better.
Most of the teams either just use the big league teams name - i.e. Iowa Wild or Providence Bruins (which obviously doesn't work here) or something that sticks in the market regardless of affiliation - Rochester Americans, Hershey Bears.
The only ones that obviously related to the big league team names are the Henderson Silver Knights and Ontario Reign. I guess you could include Tucson Road Runners and San Jose Barracuda - but they are just different animals that live in the same habitat as the big league team instead of directly related.

Roadrunners is an obvious reference to the Coyotes. Just think about it for a minute.

The Roadrunners as a name for a hockey team in Arizona long predates the Coyotes.

The Roadrunners in Phoenix and Gulls in San Diego both have been names for hockey teams in various leagues since the 60s.

This is the part that is cool with the name.
Calgary Wranglers were a junior ice hockey team that played in the Western Hockey League from 1977 until 1987
If it was just some new name that was cowboy related then I would get the angst against it, but there is just something cool about the nostalgia.

Yes, but coyotes predate roadrunners (and anything else they can catch), so it all evens out.

Coyotes can't catch Roadrunners. I've seen numerous documentaries on the subject.

Doesn't stop them from trying. You have to give them that.

Naming rights for the new Coyotes arena will be awarded to the Acme Company.
