Coming down to PHI-CGY for me and Moe as well... what happens if PHI wins by more than 1?
Neither of us have any margins, so what is the tie-breaker?

Well, this is awkward... I'm not going to watch the game tonight... a PHI win helps me here, plus I'm one of 'those' that wants Feaster's decision to sell off UFA contracts at the deadline... so I'd best just not watch tonight's game.

HEH..
So bomber317/devo22 comes down to the vancouver/phoenix game
PG/Hockey tied their differences. PG has one margin correct (WAS 1)
Hockey needs a late margin to win. SJ 2 or VAN 2

I bet on the Canucks game to go to OT, so if they win by 2 I will lose out on $5. However if the score stays the same then that really sucks.

seems like a lot of us put money on teams we didn't pick here.
I put money on Ott to beat Boston.
I really hope Phoenix beats Vancouver, just so I can use the line "That's what you get for picking the stupid Canucks". Nothing against devo22.

Finalists are PlayfulGenius vs bomber317!
Can the newbie win 2 weeks in a row or will the #1 teach him a lesson?

I bet for value, not who I think will win, necessarily.
Ex. If I think the Panthers have a 40 percent of winning, and the payyout +155 or higher, I make the bet.

I'm always torn on the "value" bets. Does the math work out for you at the end? I don't have a large enough data set to see if it pays off when the odds are mismatched.

Ya, I have a very involved system that's new for me this season. I analyze every game and place bets on those that meet my criteria (works out to half the games, pretty well, so I think I need some refinement to the system)...
... I'm up for the season thus far, but less than I projected to be, so my process needs some refinement.
Assuming I get it to work as I desire, I'm going to start a thread in here so others can copy me if they choose, that'd be fun
EDIT : I also track every single game played, even the ones that I don't bet one, to track if the 'odds' I calculate are accurate throughout the season... I have it automated now so it only takes be about 40 minutes per day to keep everything updated.
