Vasek with a good fight today, just came up a little short. Looked pretty tired in all honesty, but if he can get into some ATP (non-challenger) tourneys and win a match or two, he'll be back in the top 100 in short order.
Zverev is playing next week in Davis Cup. Is David Cup part of the ATP or does this mean he won't be suspended from any tournament?
Davis Cup falls under ITF, but as far as suspensions are concerned, I'm not quite sure how it works. Who knows if the ATP will hand down any further supplementary discipline, they might just put him on watch like they did with Kyrgios a few years ago (be on your best behavior for the next six months or something like that).
chipping returns to work into a rally must be so counterintuitive for him being used to just closing his eyes and blasting, but it's step 1 towards being a more patient player.
another series from the same writer, it's an analysis of the Big 3 generation's swing mechanics vs. the next gen, and why these young guys are powerful yet cannot rely on their weapons when they need them most:
part of the articles above is an interesting discussion about whether current training techniques for kids/juniors is actually detrimental, because they are "shielded" from the difficulties of realistic match play and can only perform under ideal physical/mental/environmental conditions.

Leylah is back in action on Monday night as she tries to defend her title in Monterrey, Mexico. She is seeden #2 (Elina Monfils is the top seed). Leylah is on a collision course with Sloane Stephens in the quarter-finals.
I was watching some Wawrinka - Thiem highlights from IW yesterday and we need to get both these back on tour as soon as possible.
was that their 2017 QF night match? I was there too...haha I got super lucky that tournament. that's when I first noticed Thiem's super giant swing motion. he worked hard to fix that, which is why he's a slam champion now.

Yes, I think it was - Great match from both guys and for lovers of one-handed backhands.

Sloane has withdrawn from the Monterrey tourney. Had a good run to the title in Guadalajara last week.
Long time Djokovic coach Marian Vadja has decided to step down to spend more time with family. When Djokovic was struggling in 2016 it took Vadja coming back for him to return to the great player that he is. Will be interesting to see how he plays without him.
The boys are certainly in tough tomorrow against the Dutch. I wish I was more optimistic, but I'm thinking it's going to be a Netherlands sweep this weekend.
