The Arcade in Deer Valley Mall. I think it was a wizards castle. Between all the quarters I fed into Battlezone, Zaxxon and Sinistar, I could have probably saved a down payment on a house by the time I was 12.

3d graphics FTW!!1one!1!!!

Crystal Pepsi was never big. It was a fad that lasted like a year in 1993. It needs to be brought back for fun, in the classic packaging.

Those aren't 3D graphics, they are Vector Graphics. Wizard's Castle was like in every mall that I can remember. Definetely Market Mall.

I actually miss the Campus Cove @ the University, even though it only disappeared in it's greatest form around 5 years ago to the nothingness of today because it was deep and cavernous and had tons of 80s coin-op games @ 25 cents including Atari Star Wars with the sit down cabinet.

I can't believe Devonian Gardens is gone, they've also run out of money on replacing it. If it ever comes back, I bet it will be completely different from how people remember it. Even 2 years ago, it still felt almost exactly the same as it did in the early 80s.

I'll raise you again with Kresge's, which became Kmart. I don't know why I remember that place.

I used to love Attic and Funky Punkers on 8th Ave, not to mention the head shops and the arcade.

They are renovating all of TD Square/Eaton Centre from scratch with mostly everything torn down including the Gardens. I heard from guys working it that they ran out of money for the Gardens portion. Don't know what will become of it.

City of Calgary website doesn't mention about them running out of money...said it will be 2011 (was supposed to be Fall 2010 originally) before it opens.

Superman 3 was on on the weekend...besides Smallville being High River, some Calgary skyline shots, Calgary Police Cars and Fire trucks, and, Richard Prior accidently skiing off the fictious ski hill and then down what I thought was Devonian Garden slanted windows, but its actually the southwest side of TD Square slanted windows, as you can see the older Royal Bank building reflection.

Heh, that was Food Depot.

Remember Food Barn on the way to Midnapore on Macloed? That is going back a long way.

I remember Food Barn. I seriously must've been about 3 when my parents went there. Still have some vague memories of it.

Is that building still there? I know it was an A & B Sound for a while. We used to do a lot of drinking in that parking lot in the Summers when I was in High School, and that building was abandoned. It was handy though, since half my friends lived up in Millrise, and we always had a place to crash within walking distance.

How about that little church that was on the other side of Macloed, near Totem building supplies. Is that still there? I always remember being scared of the graveyard it had as my parents would drive by.

Actually, come to think of it, is Totem still in business?

I always thought it was the Devonian Garden slanted window as well. I went and looked and those shots were done at Gulf Canada Square. Now I have the urge to go through shot by shot and place the camera locations on google maps
