MitHC is right up there with LOST for the most unfulfilled promise.

I've just started season 3. I think I know what you're talking about at this point lol. I'll give it some room to breath here.

It gradually switched from alternate history to sci-fi, which I wasn't too keen on. However, the final season does a really good job of exploring - and contrasting - these two aspects, but does a bit of a fizzle out in the end.

You'll likely be disappointed as it resolves neither the alt history or sci-fi aspects, but it wasn't the same disappointment level I had with shows like Lost and Dexter.

I didnt watch Dexter....but how can you be disappointed with Lost?

That was a show with 1 season's worth of material and then they were just making things up from there. It was basically a Soap Opera.

It was complete nonsense after season 1 but I thought everyone knew that.

I just loved the creativity.

"Okay, now we have an old-timey space station or something under the Ocean or something."

That makes no sense. Lets do it!

Isn't the Lost finale considered one of the worst in TV history?

Oh it was awful. But you have to sit back and look at it as TV History in a museum.

The Lost finale aired in 2010. PVRs were readily available by then.

Has anyone watched "The Stand" on Prime?
I've just seen the previews online and thought it might be worth a watch. Is it good?

Enjoyed "The Boys" and need a new show.

(Apologies, still finding my way around the forums... Found lots of posts about The Stand in the Prime thread)

It was structured and interesting at least into season 3...maybe 4, but it did become convoluted in the final few seasons to the point that the final season was just a joke. I certainly bought into the idea they had a plan longer than maybe I should have, but I wouldn't say it was nonsense after season 1. It was building a pretty engrossing mystery for a while.

Man that reminds me of when my wife was in to Pretty Little Liars. Adequate young adult mystery thriller in the first couple seasons that just goes progressively more and more off the rails the farther you go.

Like, they pulled the "secret evil twin" trope TWICE.

Fans of Dark rejoice!

some news on 1899 - going to be using similar tech as The Mandalorian...very cool

Trailer doesn't tell you much, but its mood is very much in keeping with Dark

Lost's first season was phenomenal... I'd include the Season premiere of Season 2 to that too...

But it did lose its way - albeit some truly great individual episodes and plot twists still happened throughout (the Constant, Live Together, Die Alone, Tale of Two Cities, Through the Looking Glass etc)

But, damn, you look through that episode list?! it was like 20 episodes per season... that's mind blowing now, in light of prestige TV typically no more than 10 episodes.

I was a case of ABC trying to milk all they could from the series, at a big narrative detriment...it's amazing that the showrunners didn't fizzle out earlier.

Conan's last show is June 24th. I don't know if he has any further TV plans, but he seems to enjoy doing the podcast. I don't think I've seen the show since he switched to 30 mins - on to late for me I guess.

O'Brien says he will 're-emerge on HBO Max sometime in the near future' with new program

I realize that I'm the exception but I loved the finale. I loved each of the Losties each discovering each other again. I think it was a fantastic wrap up to the show.

I didn't hate it. I can't say I had totally understood it either, but I wasn't upset at the end.

Yea I didn't get the outrage over it either. It seems so many people just thought they were dead the entire time, but it was pretty clear that the last season was a purgatory of some sort where they found each other whenever they happened to die. Wasn't the greatest ending but at least it was some closure and made sense within that world. It's nothing compared to final season disasters like Dexter or Game of Thrones

I feel like I'm gonna spend the whole show squinting at the screen trying to see what is happening.

yeah... well, it is the creators of Dark, so who knows!

it doesn't tell you much other than the mood they are going for...

they do have middle age Jonas in the cast, so that is great to see him again
