Flames CSEC's acceptable proof of vaccination for Saddledome games

https://www.nhl.com/flames/fans/vaccination-policy

Quote:
What documentation is accepted for COVID-19 proof of vaccination?
The following documentation will be accepted:
  1. Preferred & Fastest - For the most efficient entry possible, all ticket holders should sign up and download PORTpass and complete their COVID-19 proof of vaccination online or through the app. A photo, green check mark indicating fully vaccinated, and a QR code will be displayed from the app - no photo identification at entry gates required.
  2. The Province of Alberta's printable vaccination card (printed hard copy or saved on a mobile device) verified with photo identification at entry gates. Vaccination cards are available at https://www.albertavaccinerecord.ca/
  3. Hard copy documentation of vaccination received at the time of vaccination (including the name of the person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and the date last dose administered) verified with photo identification at entry gates.
  4. Immunization records on the MyHealth Records app - select immunization tab at entry and verified with photo identification at entry gates.
  5. A photo of hard copy documentation or immunization records with the patron's name clearly visible verified with photo identification at entry gates.
  6. Any other official provincial, territorial, or federal apps.

They also let you in if you've been Cronenberg'd.

No, we will not accept a negative test as a substitute for a vaccination.

Nice, I like that. No messing around by CSEC.

Are they still going with the approach that if you are guzzling beer non stop you’re not at risk of spreading the virus but if you’re not hungry or thirsty you’re a threat and need to mask up?

I'm currently chickening out on signing up for the PORTpass. I'm sure it's safe but still sketched out by uploading personal information and health care documents to a non-government site.

Are they going to follow the city's masking bylaw? Yes they are.

I'm the same. Going to go with my printed pass for the time being until we get a more secure vaccine passport from the government.

I’d be willing to bet there are a dozen apps on your phone with more sensitive info about you that present a much greater risk than someone stealing proof of your vaccination status.

So you're betting that Inglewood Jack is an idiot who has no clue about security at all?

That’s bizarrely aggressive.

No he’s not an idiot. Just maybe a little paranoid about nothing. It’s odd that it upsets you so much.

I'd be willing to bet you not. here are the first two pages of the PORTPass signup. there's probably more after these, but you tell me how quickly you'd provide this type of info to a local internet startup that you've never heard of:

Yeah, I’m not using any app unless it comes from the government. They already have my info.

What am I missing? They want your address, phone number and a pic of photo ID?

well ok, I thought people might be a bit more choosy about the type of website they're uploading a driver's license into, but I guess if everyone's comfortable with this one then have at 'er. feel free to browse the FAQ in case you have any questions about account management and security.

Just a baffling decision to go with that as their top choice. Getting caught with Loren Ipsum lazily still on their site while asking for personal information/medical records of any sort?

#%^* that.

Not unhappy nor is it a Saddledome, CSEC or local government gripe. Just the absurdity of the masking rules. Maybe it should be like smoking so long as there is a mask mandate. Have a no mask section for those who are drinking and eating.

If not wearing a mask promotes the spread of the virus why should drinking beer in your seat change that equation? If I drink in the first and third period but not in the second, does the virus notice? The occasional masking and masking of the non drinkers is accomplishing little.

Odd place to criticize the org.

I’d call it the right thing to ensure congregating fans are vaccinated.

The government has no app to validate that.

So they are trying to make it work and get 20k fans in the building efficiently.

I don’t presume any are great but providing a range of options including a home grown innovation feels like an ok approach.

Lorem Ipsum on a FAQ page only accessible through the footer has zero relevance to whether you should trust them with your information.

You all could just read the privacy policy and T&C’s if you wanted to learn more and make a decision on how safe your info is. From looking up the founder, he seems like a pretty smart and accomplished guy.

Or, you could just not use the app. But complaining about the FAQ page is stupid.
