It's still a lottery but I doubt either team can take the NL teams this year. The NL is looking strong.

Lol what a gift to the rest of the AL East, the Yankees aren't a serious franchise anymore

lol @ the Red Sox
Finished dead last in the AL East last season, picked by most to be 4th in the AL East this season......and now 2 wins away from going to the world series.

I really think Dave Roberts has dreams about being able to carry 27 pitchers. How many pitchers is he going to use in this game.

Gotta respect the Braves here. Rather than getting up 3-0 in the series before choking, which would really hurt even for Atlanta fans, choking a 2-0 series lead barely rates. Talk about caring about your fans.

The Braves wont win a WS with Brian Snitker as the manager. Taking Matzek out is as boneheaded of a move there.

Wow, Braves up 5-2 going into the 8th ready to take a strangle hold on the series, gotta hurt.
Not that I care, hate the chop.

Quite the comeback by the Dodgers to save the season.
Awful, terrible, no good sports cliche incoming...but I think the winner of the next game takes the series.

Question my dad asked me. Why don’t National League teams bat their pitcher third on the road, and just use a pinch hitter in the first inning? You could just put the previous day’s starter in the lineup card that you exchange before the game.

That's actually a great idea. I can't find any rule that says that's not allowed. The only downside (and its a very minor one), is the pinch hitter could not be able to stay in the game for sure as you'd need to replace him with the pitcher.

1. You’d burn a PH right off the bat, shortening your bench by 1.
2. It only pushes the pitcher bat slot back by 3
3. Disrupts the middle of your order with the pitcher having to bat the 2nd time around (and maybe 3rd)
4. Even if you don’t let the pitcher bat, you would need a PH each time around and would again have sub-par hitters in the 3-hole where you ideally want to have a very good hitter.
Too many negatives to negate the slim positive of pushing the pitcher’s first at bat back 3 slots, IMO

D-bag Correa and Houston deserve to lose this one after not getting a triple, then getting third on the pitch that got away. Where's this guys' head? And where's the coach's head in not going for the bunt to get the guy to third? Terrible.

Man, I hate both these teams. I don't want to see either succeed.

Houston blows it open in the 9th after a questionable missed strike 3 call extends the inning. I like to think the ump didn't call the strike to spite Alex Cora for all his dbaggin and whining earlier in the game.
Man both those teams are filled with such unlikable people.

Goes to show the AL was wide open this season and what could have been if the Jays had 1 more win.

Still worried about Astros being able to find enough pitching to win this but you know they are going to be a tough out. Such a good lineup.
Hopefully they found something with Javier since McCullers (injured), Greinke and Odorizzi (both terrible) are not options. Maybe Garcia can pitch again.

As much as I hate the Astros and want to see AA get a championship, kinda hoping for a Astros Dodgers rematch
