I'll take the under. Larin is a good talent but he's still only 20, and has shown consistent inconsistency with both club and country.

Personally, I'm more excited to see the roster for the 2016 Olympic qualifiers. Considering 3 staples of the senior team are still eligible (Larin, Henry and Piette), it will be interesting to see if they are called.

The men's and women's national teams will be included in FIFA 16, which is to be released Tuesday. Looking forward to breaking Canada's goal record with my created player in my 20th cap.

Looks like Hoilett has finally committed to Canada. Also of note, it's been reported that Fraser Aird has been called up for the friendly against Ghana as well.

Personally, it's about 5 years too late, and his career is in the toilet now, so I'm not really excited about the announcement. But on the other hand, it gives Canada another weapon in the attack.

^ Well it won't hurt any, but like you said, it would have been more exciting (and helpful) a few years ago.

Anyone know how well tickets are selling for the Honduras match in Vancouver?

Source????? I'm super excited if Hoilett commits. Schalke apparently are looking at him for the January transfer window. He's still very young and can get his game back on track.

And this Tweet sums up my thoughts on Hoilett:

After spending the last five years waiting for a better country to call him up Junior Hoilett finally commits to Canadian Soccer. My hero.

Beggars can't be choosers, at least he didn't choose Jamaica. I would rather him running down the left wing than Ricketts.

Here's the roster for the friendly against Ghana. Hoilett, Aird, Cavallini and Bustos all at one time or another spurned the national team. As someone who's held various amounts of rage towards those 4 at points in time, I'm confused on how to feel.

Not a bad roster for a friendly in the middle of crunch time in MLS.

CANADA
1- GK- Simon Thomas | NOR / Strommen
2- M- Fraser Aird | SCO / Glasgow Rangers FC
3- FB- Samuel Adekugbe | CAN / Vancouver Whitecaps FC
4- CB- André Hainault | GER / 1. FC Magdeburg
5- CB- David Edgar | ENG / Sheffield United
6- M- Kianze Froese | CAN / Vancouver Whitecaps FC
7- M- David Hoilett | ENG / Queens Park Rangers
8- M- Kyle Bekker | CAN / Impact Montréal
9- F- Marcus Haber | ENG / Crewe Alexandra
10- F- Simeon Jackson | ENG / Barnsley FC
11- M- Tosaint Ricketts | TUR / Boluspor FC
12- CB- Nana Attakora | USA / San Antonio Scorpions
13- F- Jordan Hamilton | CAN / Toronto FC
14- CB- Adam Straith | NOR / Fredrikstad FK
15- CB- Manjrekar James | HUN / Diósgyöri VTK
16- F- Lucas Cavallini | URU / CA Fénix
17- FB- Marcel De Jong | USA / Sporting Kansas City
18- GK- Milan Borjan | BUL / PFK Ludogorets Razgrad
19- M- Maxim Tissot | CAN / Impact Montréal
20- FB- Karl Ouimette | USA / New York Red Bulls
21- CB- Wandrille Lefèvre | CAN / Impact Montréal
22- GK- Kenny Stamatopoulos | SWE / AIK Fotbol
23- M- Marco Bustos | CAN / Vancouver Whitecaps FC
24- M- Manuel Aparicio | CAN / Toronto FC II

Getting to the hex during this cycle will require a miracle, and I don't see that happening.

But I'm more optimistic than in a long time to see some young, technical talent emerging.

We've never produced young players with the technical ability of Marco Bustos and Hanson Boakai etc in Canada before. This will be the first generation of offensively dynamic players for us. I only hope they will continue to improve and become MLS regulars.

I'm quite excited about this roster actually! The Cavallini call up just threw me for a loop.

In Olympic qualifying news, Canada's U-23 lost 3-1 to the US on Thrusday, and won 3-1 against Panama yesterday. I watched the second half of the US game via YouTube, and I thought the play was relatively even, the difference being that the US capitalized on their chances and Canada didn't. Petrasso has 2 goals in 2 games, and looks heads and shoulders about the rest of the squad.

Next up, Cuba on Tuesday.

Canada plays Ghana and the US tonight.

Ghana for the senior friendly, and the US as the U23 team plays for an Olympic berth. The winner of this game goes to Rio.

Both streamed on canadasoccer.com, 5pm and 530pm respectively.

^ The only correction is that the winner of the U23 match tonight must play Colombia in a playoff, and if they win that, they go to Rio.

I'm going to try and skip between the two if I can, or I may record the U23 match (simply because it is on "cable") and try and catch the senior match live. Add the Flames into the mix and there may be too much sportsing for me to handle tonight!

Canada is tied 1-1 with Ghana at the half. De Jong apparently scored a golazo but the stream cut out. Hoilett has been fantastic as well.

Canada U-23s tied 0-0 with USA in the 55th minute. Canada down to 10 men, looks like Frano was sent off for no apparent reason according to Twitter.

Canada draws Ghana 1-1. From the bits I saw it was relatively even play, Ghana missed some good chances, although from reading Twitter Canada showed quite well in attack compared with the last few games. Good result, especially considering 6 players made their debut. Guess we will see what they have in the real games come November.

Canada U-23s lose to US 2-0. Their chance at the 2016 Olympics is done.

Canada looked good against Ghana. Dare I let myself have some hope for World Cup qualifying next month?
