My PS5 is already f'ed, I connected a newly formatted Seagate external drive and now it it's stuck in a Safe Mode loop. Option 7 is all that's available, load software onto USB, reset to factory default, fails, can't reset console. Tried a dozen times, calling Sony customer support now.
Maybe I formatted the external drive incorrectly, I don't know what caused this. Could just be my console.

I assume you've unplugged the external drive?

I unplugged the external drive and buried it in the backyard, power cycled numerous times, left unplugged overnight, tried every "tip" I could google or find on youtube. No real solution on what to do when stuck on option 7 and the software update doesn't work.
Double checked the software version I download, correct names for the folder, etc.
Option 1 to 6 are greyed out. Everytime I start up it goes to safe mode with only option 7 available.

This is annoying, my nowinstock.net alerts keep spamming my phone with Series X Halo Infinite bundles from the Microsoft store, but even if I click on the link the second I get the alert there's nothing to purchase. Are the bots just that fast?

There are a few ways to combat this -- Target appears to be cancelling orders sent to the same physical address, others cancel multiple orders on the same credit card, but the best way? In-store sales only.

I've never really made a secret of it, either. I left the company for a few years and returned over the pandemic, but I'm part of engineering this time instead of being a Services employee.

They did this exact same thing when I got mine from the last Walmart drop. The second I saw a tweet from Lbabinz, I stopped everything and bought the unit from my phone.

Technically, since it’s thermoelectric — not compressor and refrigerant-based — it isn’t really a mini- fridge so much as a mini-chiller.
Shame the full-size fridge wasn’t a retail item. I’d like to see these scalper pricks take delivery of 160 full-size refrigerators in their mom’s basements.

As far as retailers are concerned they probably prefer the scalpers. Guaranteed purchased with far lower chances of returns or customer service complaints

I actually finally secured a PS5 with an extra controller on this drop, what a nightmare it was, it was 12:30am here. Added to my cart and then got error screen after error screen for 10 minutes before it finally let me checkout. At least I finally got one after trying for like a year.

Yeah, I'd be totally in favour of in-store orders only. Every person goes in and everyone can pay.
The first in line get the first shipment and so on and so on. Basically you pay to be put in a queue. The earlier you arrive the earlier you get your console. Have it be a one-day event.
That way everyone can get a console, and if you miss out on the first few shipments at least you know you'll get one eventually and you won't have to deal with the headache of trying to order a console.
