Default American rancher discovers unknown canine, promptly shoots it.

Quote:
A rancher in central Montana shot a wolf-like animal after it was spotted in a pasture with livestock, but a closer look prompted state wildlife officials to take DNA samples to determine what type of animal it was.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks regional spokesperson Bruce Auchly said the animal's front claws and canine teeth are too short and its ears are too tall in proportion to its skull for it to be a purebred wolf.

Isn't it super obviously a Wolfdog of some persuasion? Why is this news?

lol no kidding. Plus, why are people upset at a farmer shooting it for prowling around his livestock? Perfectly normal and reasonable.

Others have speculated the creature could be anything from a malnourished bear cub or a werewolf-like creature known as a 'dogman.'
Really CBC? This is the state of journalism today, where the online ravings of crazy people are presented alongside statements from actual trained professionals as if they are equally valid.

From looking at the paw I think the DNA will show it's a hybrid of a wolf/coyote or wolf/fox
