It's the lyrics for me too. It seems Ivan Moody loves to sing about how tough he is, and how he wont back down. There is zero depth to his lyrics, and I find that completely lame. Other than that I dont mind them. Soncially they sound ok, sure they're the Nickelback of metal but you cant say Nickelback doesn't know how to write a song.

Also, good ol Burn the Priest has released a covers album. And I should have paid more attention to bands like the Melvins, Bad Brains, and Big Black.

Honey Bucket is such a cool tune, and Burn the Priest is IMO on par with Lamb of God

Funny thing is that the dude is 5'6" tall. Even if you really like the band the Napoleon syndrome is hard to ignore.

lol I know. But I've never really been a thrash metal guy in general and Slayer has never appealed to me in any shape or form.

That's music right? Everyone has different tastes as my brother could never get into Slayer as well and I played the heck out of Reign in Blood and South of Heaven in our house.

Yup different strokes. While I respect Tool and do overall like their music I wouldn't consider myself a fan. Guess I like the more straight forward less complex metal. Something you can tap your foot too without trying to figure out the timing changes.

I mean you don't have to like Slayer, but I do think Mr. Patton sums it up pretty well.

I've never really listened to much Metal, and I don't even really like rock music, but I'm pretty much obsessed with Amon Amarth right now.

That's pretty impressive for someone that hasn't listened to much metal. No tip toeing into the genre for you!

If you were to guess how a member of Anal #### was going to die this would be pretty high up on the list.

Ghost's new album is a freaking masterpiece. I know the Opus crowd will hate it and it's definitely far from being a metal record, but man, Forge is a brilliant songwriter. A really divese record with a couple of great instrumentals and a ton of good riffs and catchy hooks.

Awesome album. Great Death worship!

Anyone else like the band 'Mystifier'? Black/Death. I seriously love them right now. Reading their lyrics while listening makes it that much more awesome. They're like blasphemous, occult novels. haha.

Ok yeah the new Ghost is pretty great. I think I'd been turned off by their last few EPs and Meliora felt really flat to me, but this new album is the strongest one they've put out so far.

Ive only given it one listen but I'm not huge on it so far. Rats is great, Faith is good, and Dance Macabre is fun, Miasma is cool. But every other track was sort of weak.

But there's a decent chance it'll grow on me, still think Ghost is great though. At this point I think Avatar Country is much better.

You won't be disappointed. One of the best live bands I've seen going back to the 80's. I wish they could be the headliner as they always end up stealing the show for whatever bands they open for.
