MacDonald has been released from his PTO. Looks like Kylington has made the opening night roster.

Hope Kylington takes this opportunity and runs with it. I think he has big skill and potential to be a prototypical modern defenseman

Oh thank goodness. I would have hated to see MacDonald on the roster. Give Kylington easy minutes and let him grow! He got better and better last year during his 30+ games in the NHL.

Well, that settles it, I was 100% wrong in guessing which PTO's would be getting contracts

(I don't think Gryba counts.)

I am guessing they didn't agree on terms. I am almost sure it wasn't even all about money but mostly terms.

Yeah, they would have released him earlier if there wasn't any contract discussion going on.

The Flames probably wanted to sign MacDonald but have him start in the AHL. He probably didn't like that so didn't sign. The two must have been talking contract or he would have been released earlier.

I agree he must have wanted to play but not willing in the AHL because looking at the depth in the AHL we could use a vet there
