Not because I am a fan, or in favor of it, but I think Rinaldo

Reason: Total braincramp on calling him Carcillo.

Want to see Smith-Pelley step up and help solidify the RW.
But I think the more likely scenario is Rinaldo serving as a #14 forward.

I think none.
Maybe Rinaldo gets a 2-way and starts the year in Stockton.

I struggled with how to treat Brandon Davidson with this question. He already has a contract but it feels like the dmen on PTOs are competing with him.

I don't see any of them getting anything more than a two way and starting in the A.
Reider just flys around, but doesn't do much else.
DSP has a chance because he's a RW and Mony's buddy, but he's replaceable.
Rinaldo is just blocking Lomberg so I don't see the point.
And MacDonald is just bad.

There might be a misunderstanding. Doesn't matter if they make the NHL roster or start in the AHL. Thats still a contract, correct?

I need to see more than the split squad game before deciding.

The thread title asks who makes the cut. I translate that to be who makes the NHL roster.
But the poll question says contract, so I don't know.

I think that the flames trade Brodie if Macdonald is sufficient as 6/7th dman based on the long look already. I see Davidson as below him - AHL leadership. Trading Brodie is easier than trading Frolik and none of the PTO forwards look like they're replacing Frolik. Frolik can move up and down the lineup depending on the play of other middle six potential wingers Dube/Mangiapane/Bennett. I think Janko is who they hope to trade to create cap room (if needed).

None. We have enough depth we don't need them and none of them have really impressed me.

Is he coming out of retirement after 4 seasons or is there another Carcillo?

I think Rinaldo gets a 2-way, though starts the year with the Flames till Tkachuk signs. I also think Rieder gets a 2-way contract

All I can get

Pre-camp, I would've said Smith-Pelley.
Peters seems to be going out of his way to praise Rinaldo, though it's still early on.
The Flames likely invited other players whom they also like who instead opted for other camps, so I could see another Kris Versteeg-type signing.

none of them should get NHL deals IMO.

I hope none of them get deals except AHL. But I think MacDonald has been the best.
