Hazelton is a pretty good receiver and when you consider Bowman was slated to make $260k cutting him was a no-brainer.

I find it is difficult to find out how much these guys make, who is Calgary's highest paid guy besides Mitchell?

Derek Dennis released. IMO Bruce Campbell (hes a free agent) played way better than Dennis in that spot last yr. Clearing cap space to bring Campbell?

Bone Crusher didn't look like the same player last year. For some reason (And I really focus on this a lot now). His footwork was really bad and far different from his footwork with the Stamps.

There are lots of reasons for that, knee problems, weight gain, coaching and systems. But he just looked far different and not balanced.

Probably one of the more colorful coaches in CFL history and he was a great recruiter bringing in Joe Theisman and Leon McQuay.

He also was the guy most responsible for the pyramid rule in the CFL, when he used to put players on other players shoulders on field goal attempts.

The CFL sometimes needs more Leo Cahills today.

As someone who grew up in the Maritimes and lived in Halifax for 5 years, I honestly can’t see a team working there long term. Will do well the first couple of years and people will travel from the Maritimes to take a game in, but after the novelty wears off I’m not sure. If there’s one bring Maritimes like to do it’s complain about how expensive something is. QMJHL tickets is about the max of their price point. Can’t see a lot of families be willing to spend 200-300 bucks to go to a game (assuming 4 tickets at modest price and some concessions).

Granted I haven’t lived there in over a decade (though visit frequently), Dartmouth Crossing seems like a bad spot for a stadium. That would be like Calgary building a stadium in Deerfoot Meadows keeping in mind there is no Ctrain to get you most of the way there like there is in Calgary. This team is going to have to rely some on the University crowd to be successful and that’s a long way to expect them to travel.

Teams release the names of 10 players on their neg list (even though they can have up to 45 players in total). Pretty pointless in my opinion but I guess a move in the right direction.

https://www.cfl.ca/2018/02/20/cfl-re...-players-team/

Some noteable names include RG3 (Hamilton), Kaepernick (Montreal), Baker Mayfield (Toronto) and Lamar Jackson (BC).

Holy ####! After the year Steinauer had at Fresno St. I didn't think he would be back for a long while. I'm wondering if he is able to work better with the current HC better than the one who was there previously?

With Steinauer and Glanville - I wonder what they do with Lolley? Has to be the HC in waiting? Good succession plann if so. Great move for the Cats.

@Ticats:
COACH O IS BACK IN THE 🔨!

The #Ticats have appointed @Coach22O as the team's Assistant Head Coach. @CoachJuneJones brings Steinauer back to Hamilton after one season at @FresnoStateFB.

Having made it clear they won’t release him from his contract early to pursue employment in the National Football League, the Toronto Argonauts have made a contract extension proposal to James Wilder Jr.

According to sources, the deal would make Wilder one of the highest-paid running backs in the league.

It's crazy how so many of the higher profile protected list names are on Hamilton and Montreal. It seems like it's always been that way.

Publication ban is not good... normally that comes with something that includes a minor. It could also be sexual assault related.
