FWIW, Fangraphs is projecting the Jays to make the playoffs.

Not surprising really. A lot of quietly good moves from the Jays this off season.

Solarte/Diaz over Barney/Goins
Granderson/Grichuk over Carerra/Bautista

The big key for me is going to be the health/depth of the starting rotation, and the bullpen not blowing 24 saves this season.

I don't think the bullpen will be a problem. If anything, last year was an anomaly. The problem will be the aging lineup. Surely those two moves were alright, but IMO, not enough to get them to the playoffs considering age of their "good" infield players (Tulo, Donaldson, Martin).

Yeah, many don't think much of the Jays bullpen, I also don't think it will be a weak point. Relievers are weird and unpredictable, and the Jays have a large mix of arms to work with. Enough of them will click for the bullpen to be just fine IMO.

Closer - Osuna
Righties - Biagini, Tepera, Barnes, Ramirez, Axford, Albequerque, Petricka
Lefties - Loup, Dermody, Breslow, Mayza, Girodo

I also wouldn't be surprised if they try to convert Guerrieri into a reliever.

Interesting write-up,

"It seems clear the Blue Jays have known for quite a while that they either couldn’t or didn’t want to sign star slugger Josh Donaldson to a contract extension."

If this is true..... Jays absolutely should be looking to trade the star 3rd baseman in my view.

I wish I could find it, but I read, or heard, that Donaldson was looking for a contract that took him to age 38 or 39 because he believes that he will still be a good hitter. IF that is true then it is time to trade him.

I mean sure, he could be a good hitter still, but so very few players maintain that ability past 35 that you have to play the odds. For every Nelson Cruz, there are 100's of Bautista's.

If it was so unlikely that a deal was going to get done, would Atkins say things like he feels a deal will likely get done? I don't think so. I would think he'd tip toe around it much more than he has.

Report: Blue Jays agree to $2M deal with Seung Hwan Oh https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1493681

After Seung Hwan Oh's deal with the Texas Rangers fell through due to a reported physical issue, the right-handed reliever has agreed to a one-year, $2-million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith.

The deal, which is pending a physical, also reportedly includes a vesting option for the 2019 season.

Good arm for little money - great signing if he has a bounce back year... Starting to like what this new management is doing... will have to pass a physical first of course...

They keep raising the floor, that's for sure. No complaints here.

No, that's an overused term. The reward is not high, It's middling... and that's fine for low risk moves.

Go early the players are happy to chat and sign... stand on the side down the line by the bullpen players will always be walking by and should be happy to sign and chat - especially for kids... Enjoy it!

Good. Hopefully he doesn't come back either. I would way rather use the younger guys as depth than Zeke.

Pillar
Grichuk
Granderson
Pearce

Smith Jr
Alford
Hernandez
Pompey

Gonna miss Zeke's cute little face but not his defense.
