Default Moving costs?

Just curious what folks have typically paid for to use professional movers in Calgary. I realize it is heavily dependent on size of house, how much stuff - but just looking for ballparks figures, and also which movers people have good experiences with.

~$1300 for a 1100sq ft house. I'm fuzzy on the price, but I got a deal as I know the family. http://www.premierevanlines.com/en/b...a_calgary.aspx were the movers, and both my parents and myself used them and were extremely happy. Fast, nothing broken, no hidden costs.

Just remember. You aren't paying for movers, you're paying to not destroy all of your friendships

Yeah I agree - my friends are all at a stage where asking them to move would be extremely poor form. So I'm going to use pro movers for sure - just trying to get a feel for $$$ so I can start to budget for everything. Thx for the info.

I'm also using Premiere for my move tomorrow. I can't help you with pricing as I'm leaving the city.

Paid $800 to move from a 1400 sq ft townhouse. We moved some of the small stuff ourselves, so it was only a 5-6 hour job for the movers. I believe we used Tippet-Richardson

I think we used amj Campbell about 8 yrs ago. It was much better than renting a truck and getting friends to do it.

I think it cost about a $1000.

You might qualify to write off your moving expenses

It sounds like he might be moving within Calgary to me, so probably doesn't meet the "40 km closer to work" rule.
