I don't know any of the players they signed, what's the scouting report on them?

Going by YouTube compilations? They're incredible and we are assured of the PL title. In reality though, a little less than that. We had a good window I think, but saying we had the best is a little premature. There are possibly some outgoings still (Eriksen/Rose?) and that could change things quite a bit.

Is is right that Luiz didn't complete that transfer from Chelsea?

As per Arsenal and Chelsea's twitter, it was completed.

Yeah, that one looks like it went through. Not that anyone other than David Luiz really cares.

Why? Adding or subtracting David Luiz means little to nothing to either fan base other than:

"We got rid of David Luiz!"

or

"We got David Luiz?"

Arsenal were desperate for a centre back, and although he's not the major signing fans really want, it's a major improvement on what we had this morning.

Chelsea fans also seem genuinely upset by his leaving and seem to have liked what he brought to the club.

It may not matter to you, but the move is significant to the clubs involved.

Devo/Bagor, help me with this depth chart.

-------------------- Rashford
-------------- (Greenwood, Chong)

-------- Martial ------ Pogba ----- Lingard
-------- (Sanchez) -- (Mata) ---- (D. James)

--------------- Matic -- McTominay
------------ (Pereira, Gomez, Fred)

Shaw -------- Maguire - Lindelof ----- Wan Bissaka
(Young) ------ (Smalling, Jones) ----- (Dalot)

------------------------ de Gea
----------------------- (Romero)

Rojo, Darmian, await their contracts ending next summer.

Bailly out til Christmas.

Borthwick-Jackson, Tuanzabe & Fosu-Mensah, should be loaned out.

Luiz is just an okay player at this point. Can still be a great distributor of the ball, but at the same time also is still a gong show defensively with his decision making.

According to the advanced soccer stat site whoscored he’s still rated 7.08 last year, which was still top 50 in the league.

Actually higher than Maguire by that sites rankings.

Luiz surely can't be worse than Mustafi and that's all that matters.

It's also important because he's coming from Chelsea, and they are a worse team today because of this move.

Arsenal very likely will be competing with Chelsea for top 4 again so the move is more significant than if Luis was coming from some other league or a lower table club.

Even if Arsenal are marginally better from this and Chelsea are marginally worse, that could mean swapping table positions as they were only 2 points apart last season.

Ya know, he's hit some stunners for free kicks too.
Will he at Arsenal?

In all honesty, the Arsenal/Chelsea battle is interesting. Chelsea loses Hazard and can't replace him, and to top it all off they have an unproven manager. Hard to see how that goes, although they did keep Kovacic and added Pulisic. I think that's a tough one to predict in terms of where they're going to wind up.

But adding Luiz, while probably necessary is at least a bit "meh". They lost Aaron Ramsey on a free, and didn't really replace him. The best CB they did add they loaned back, so it won't help this year. Really they needed to add some defence, and while Tierney might be a good addition, it's hard to say for sure. I think that they're going to leak goals though.

Probably best used in a 3, will emery do that at all this year?

Bellerin and Tierney can certainly play as wingbacks
