Edmonton, Buffalo, and Arizona are all locked in a tight battle with a franchise player as the prize. Picking up Bartkowski and playing him could ensure that they finish last, without getting disciplined for tanking. Surely an extra few % in the Dahlin sweepstakes has to be worth something?

Tre is just teasing General Disappointment. While scouting Buffalo last night the conversation between Tre and Chia:
Tre "So Klefbom and Nurse have been terrible and Sekera is likely to have lost a step after his injury...looking for D are you?"
Chia "mur mur mur"
Tre "I do have an abundance of D men right now. For a good haul I could probably trade you one of our second pairing guys"
Chia "mur mur mur?!"
Tre "I've got a good #4 in Bartkowski I could spare. If I didn't already have 5 top pairing guys and a solid #3 in Kulak he certainly wouldn't be in the press box."
Chia "mur mur mur!!"
Tre "Or maybe I'll just play him next game"

GG at his finest. Why not sit someone who deserves to be like Brodie.
If true that's very unfair on kulak.

I don't agree with this decision at all, but I'm not going to get upset about it either.
Fact remains that Bartkowski is still on this team. Like Stajan and Familton who recently got some game action after several games off, Bartkowski deserves to be afforded the same courtesy. Get a game in every now and then. Remain in game shape so that you're ready if need be.
I'm sure we'll see Kulak back in right away, unless Bartkowski somehow has an amazing game.
It's a long season. You're going to swap bench players in every now and then. It's nothing to get worked up about.

Brodie is one of our top four D, even if Gulutzan's stubborness on how to use him has caused him to regress. He's also paid his dues. Kulak hasn't. There is always only going to be one guy leaving the line-up when they want to spot Bartkowksi some game action, and it's going to be Kulak. That's just how it works.

No, confusion can be dealt with in a GDT. Only outrage and hatred demands a new thread for #6D drawing into a single game.

Wondering if Kulak has a sore mitt from his dustup against Detroit? Getting some time off to heal it?
Yeah he's played well.

I agree with that, however, what on earth has Barkowski done to warrant playing time? Kulak has been showing vast improvement and the team has been winning.....unless he is hurt it makes no sense to put in a lesser player against a high end team simply to give him some action.

See, I don't think Kulak has played like the "#6". He's consistently been the better player on his pair at 5v5, and the fact that Gio and Brodie play left side means he is in tight to get special teams time. If you want to swap #6s then you gotta swap Kulak's partner.
Which would be equally asinine. Bartkowski is not a #7 defenseman. He is not an NHL defenseman. Essentially, you are not swapping a #6 for a #6. You are swapping a #5 for a #8. Voluntarily.

I agree Kulak has been playing great and Bart played himself off the every day roster. But I just think you have to give press box guys a game every now and then, just so they are not totally flat if and when an injury happens. Like what just happened with Freddie (and which worked OK). I think the Columbus game is as good as any other to do it in. Kulak`s not so good that he can`t sit every fifth game or so. You don`t sit Brodie. He played pretty well last game outside of the first mistake (which was partially because the net caught his stick).

So that can happen when someone is dinged up or when you're playing toilet teams like Edmonton, Arizona, Florida etc. This move is essentially forcing the team to play shorthanded all game.

So you are arguing that Kulak has been better than Stone? I don't think so. Stone has been our third best D man all year Imo and should be playing with Brodie.

Hey, maybe Gulutzan and the coaching staff are around these guys all the time. You know in the weight room, in practices, in the dressing room. You know the places where unless you are part of the Calgary Flames you have zero clue about.
Perhaps Bartkowski is putting in the work, practicing hard, has a good attitude and the coaching staff deems him worthy of drawing back in for a game.
I mean I understand that he has had his struggles at times, but he has also played some fairly solid games. Kulak could be banged up a bit and the coaches see this as a good opportunity to give him a game off.
I also know people like to pretend they should be coaching this team over Glen, but it seems to me he and his staff would know more about the team and his players due to the fact he is with them every day.
But what do I know.

Honestly its whatever - its your 6 defensman. I'd rather have Kulak, but I'm not around the team or know the circumstances that allow bart to draw in. Call me when he's directly responsible for the GWG against before getting fired up about this
