Default Day 9 (PM of July 31 - AM August 1)

I'm posting a bit early today, last night of swimming tonight and one of the most exciting events in the Men's 100m in the morning. See the CBC Sports Website for streaming links, as well as CBC Gem and the CBC Olympics App.

Round 4 of the Men’s Golf Tournament begins at 16:30. Both Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes are -7. Xander Schauffele is in first at -14, Japanese superstar Hideki Matsuyama is one back. I think this will be covered on TSN2.

At 16:45 the Individual Cross Country Eventing begins; Colleen Loach competes for Canada.

At 18:00 Canada takes on Germany in the Round of 16 in Men’s Team Foil Fencing. The Quarterfinals begin at 19:45, Semis at 22:40, Bronze Medal Match at 03:30, Gold Medal Match at 04:50.

Heather Bansley and Brandie Wilkerson compete in the Round of 16 in Women’s Beach Volleyball at 18:00. It seems like this will be on TSN3 or TSN4.

Canada takes on Poland in Group A action in Men’s Volleyball at 18:00. I think this will be on SN or SN1.

Athletics begins at 18:10 with the Qualification for Women’s Hammer Throw, Jillian Weir competes in Group A, Camryn Rogers is in Group B that should be beginning around 19:40. At 18:40 Round 1 of the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase begins with Genevieve Lalonde in Heat 1, Regan Yee is in Heat 2, Alycia Butterworth is in Heat 3. Women’s Long Jump Qualification starts at 18:50, Christabel Nettey is in Group A. The Women’s Shotput Final begins at 19:35. Round 1 of the Men’s 400m begins at 19:45.

At 19:00 Canada faces Spain in Women’s Basketball. I think this will be on either TSN3 or TSN4.

Women’s BMX Freestyle Final starts at 19:10.

The last evening of Swimming starts at 19:30 with the Men’s 50m Freestyle Final. The Men’s 1500m Freestyle Final begins at 19:44. At 20:15 Canada will be in Lane 4 for the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay Final. I think that all swimming events will be shown live on CBC.

At 20:35 Erica Wiebe begins her Gold Medal defense in Women’s 75kg Wrestling in the Round of 16 against a wrestler from Estonia. If she moves on the Quarterfinals begin at 20:56, Semis at 03:55, Bronze Medal Matches start at 05:55, Gold Medal Match at 06:20.

Sailing content begins at 21:05. Race 7 of the Men’s 470 starts at 21:15, Jacob Saunders and Oliver Bone race for Canada. At 23:05 Race 9 in Men’s Finn begins, Tom Ramshaw is the Canadian sailor.

At 22:00 the Semifinals in Men’s Singles Badminton get underway.

At 22:50 Group B of 76kg Women’s Weightlifting begin, 2020 World Cup Bronze Medalist Kristel Ngarlem lifts for Canada.

At 00:00 the Final in Women’s 3m Springboard Diving begins, Jennifer Abel jumps 10th. This should be on CBC.

The Women’s Doubles Gold Medal Tennis Match starts at 00:00, second up on Centre Court will be the Men’s Singles Gold Medal Match, and third on Centre Court is the Mixed Doubles Gold Medal Match. I believe this will be on TSN3 or TSN 4.

Canada faces Netherlands in Women’s Water Polo at 00:30.

At 02:45 the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Vault Final begin, Shallon Olsen is the lone Canadian competing, I think this will be shown live on CBC. The Men’s Pommel Horse Final starts at 03:44. Women’s Uneven Bars Final starts at 04:27.

The Final of Men’s High Jump starts at 04:10, Django Lovett competes for Canada. At 04:15 the Semifinals in the Men’s 100m sprint begins. Andre de Grasse, who had the fastest time in Round 1 is in the first race running in Lane 6. Women’s 100m Hurdles Semifinals start at 04:45. At 05:15 the Final for the Women’s Triple Jump starts. At 05:25 the Men’s 800m Semifinals start, Marco Arop from Edmonton runs in the second race. The Men’s 400m Hurdles Semifinals start at 06:05.

At 05:30 the Women’s Badminton Singles Bronze Medal Match starts, the Gold Medal Match will begin at 06:20.

At 06:50 the Men’s 100m Final begins!

GO CANADA!

Crap. I fell asleep and didn't bet Degrasse to win the 100m at 11.75 odds! now it's only 3.25.

They really should have had that first set, gave away too many serves.

Poland feeding us our lunch right now in men’s volleyball.

Ya the serving hasn’t been great. They’ve battled back well in this second set though

what a wild win. I don’t really know how you determine a ball is in or out with an uneven surface like that.

Our women swimmers are so awesome. Another medal.

A better swimmer for the breaststroke and we’d be there with the US and AUS powerhouses.

Oleksiak now has 7 Olympic medals and is still only 21, can’t wait to see this what the Women’s Swimming Team can do in Paris in 2024
