I get it off, becuase several years ago our office manager thought it was a stat. She put it on the vacation schedule, and now every year it gets approved by the owner. And every Tuesday he asks "is Monday a stat?" Then in December he approves the same schedule, presumably because he forgets again. It's a nice bonus. I sure won't be the one to correct it.

I work in a government building that is half government half private, the private half (me) is here, the government got it off. Seems like half of my co-workers took the day off as well. Would have had to use a vacation day though.

Full day parking at the Gulf parkade is 3 bucks today.

I get today off and my wife doesnt. My kids daycare is closed so we get some father son bonding in.

In Alberta it is a voluntary holiday (similar to Heritage day) employers can include:

Federal PWGSC:

Alberta - Easter Monday listed as an optional per employer:

Yes it does.

I know a few teachers who have to work today. But that could be because they didn't do anything last week when they were off.

Nope the office is open, I took the day off anyways, but I tend to stretch most 3 day weekends to 4 day weekends.

Some provincial government employees definitely have today off, but it's business as usual in private industry from what I've seen.
I'm not sure if it's an official PD day, but some schools are doing parent/teacher interviews today.

One of the nicer perks of my current employer is bonus days around each long weekend. If it's a holiday Monday, we get the Friday off, if it's a holiday Friday, we get the Monday off.

So basically every long weekend is a four day weekend for us. But the trade off being we don't really have traditional flex days outside of your vacation allotment. However I kinda prefer it this way as it makes scheduling easier.

I'm working today, and have never had Easter Monday off with any employer (28 years and counting). Kids have it off from school (CBE) and if I recall correctly they have had every Easter Monday off since they began school. Traffic was very light this morning on the drive in.

It's a PD day system wide.

Everyone in my office who has school aged kids seem to be out of the office. The rest of us plebs are here.

Teacher wife is in for a PD day. I work for a utility and it's a day off every year.

Does she figure it will be a full 8-hour day for teachers, or just a partial day?
