Damn, Mel. Solid compliment. Nice use of the word "boner!"

The electric starter on my Broil King BBQ (4 years old) no longer clicks or ignites.

Has anyone here had this issue? Was it a simple cleaning that fixed it?

Have you tried replacing the battery?

I bought a new Broil King a few months ago and the salesman mentioned that eventually the electric starter will stop working and it will most likely be the battery.

I just went out and checked mine - I was able to unscrew the starter button and there's a triple AAA battery inside.

I'll check that out first thing tomorrow! Thanks!

I enjoyed the first Rotisserie chicken of the year this Saturday, so it's officially grilling season at my house! Custom spice rub on the outside, lemon, ginger, fresh herbs on the inside, and slow rotisserie over low heat. Then let it rest for the juciest chicken ever. Yumm!

Short update:

Here are some shots of the meats shortly before taking them off. We finished the ribs by giving them a quick grill on the BBQ and painting on a bit of BBQ sauce. We let the pork rest for 30 minutes before pulling it apart. I'm glad we got a bone-in shoulder as it really kept the meat moist and added some nice flavour.

I took a couple of pictures after the pork was pulled and of the coleslaw, but they're still on my brother's iPhone. Maybe once he reads this he can post them up *hint hint*.

Overall I was super pleased with the results. Next smoking project: a whole brisket.

Yes, I can adopt you. You have to bring steaks and beers though!

Look's good Komskies

I just asked for it Trad. Just ask when they'll be cutting T Bones...they usually take the hint, ask for the big side of the loin so it's got the big fillet.

I meant which butcher do you go to? Or will Co-op cut like this?

Any idea if Costco still have those "$60 Smokers"? I gotta admit, for the once or twice a year I'd use it, that would be a solid value.
