Huberdeau is finally coming around. He’s been pretty good since coming back from injury. I still think there’s another gear there but I’m okay being patient with him.
I agree. After watching the clip between the first and second period made during the game in Florida it really showed Huby talking with guys where he expects them to go when he has the puck. And talking on the bench with what he wants guys to do when he is set up with the puck, I think we will start to see a streak of games with 2 or 3 points soon.
Also playing with Backlund can help him settle down a bit as they seem to think a lot alike and Backs gives him the freedom to try more stuff offensively.
Pray for Carter Hart.
Dear Gritty, god of chaos, please eat the other team … and a few of our players too. You know who I’m talking about. In his Orangeness, we pray. Amen.

I appreciate this. Gritty is my Lord and Savior.

listen, i know there are injuries, but that is the worst forward line up i have ever seen in my life. I'm talking expansion san jose/ottawa bad. I'm kind of excited to watch the first line though. for all the nay sasyers and all the hype guys as far as frost goes, heres his chance, at least the possible beginning of.
5-2 calgary. frost and tippett score for philly.

So which team shows up today? The tanking team or the team that can’t decide whether or not it wants to tank?

How will they top Saturday’s embarrassment?

This is a team built in their GM's image. They don't top anything - they bottom it all.

Gonna really need the boys to do the little things this game, lots of unforced dump ins to give up possession, some nice blown coverages. I think this game is the most likely to mess up the streak for the next few weeks. If they can manage some clutch loses in this game and the two vs the Caps I think there is a decent chance they could ride this streak until the Yotes on Dec 11th.

Huby. Nice shot.
Flyers suck. Nice job, Tony.

Just started. Per the Calgary feed it's 1-0 and there are zero shots. That's wrong yeah?

Flyers continue their uncanny ability to jump start players slumping

oh look we broke Hubie scoreless streak..
ur welcome..
its what we are here for.

I like when they cut to Torts after we do something bad and he looks like he wants to jump off the Ben Franklin
Quote:
Torts sees something in Cates as a center. These are the things I like. People act like Torts is a stodgy dinosaur, but he's completely willing to try things and innovate. He changes lines, he believes they need to develop Cates as a center. He uses Tippett and Frost right away in the shootout. I trust his feel for the game and his feel for people.

That is a good way to start a period down two goals.

We are going to lose a lot of games now, This is awesome. Just give frost time to shine and continue to lose.
Really the only outcomes of this season worth anything are:
-obtaining a top 5 pick
-having frost, farabee, tippet, cates continue to develop
-trade as many #### players for picks/prospects

Alright you guys, time to prepare to have the worst record in the league but end up picking 2 or 3 in the draft and whoever we pick gets injured when we #### the beach in 2023.

We ALWAYS give up a goal when we pull the goalie. We NEVER score when the opponent pulls the goalie. Just another sucky reality of being a Flyers fan.

why does that seem to never work for the Flyers but always works for the other team?

Someone pointed out in the Montreal game thread that they flyers are always on the wrong side of the empty net, whether they’re the team who is up or down

We can never score an empty netter but other teams can be hog tied and blindfolded and score

It’s really something to watch a team that’s incapable of possessing the puck in the offensive zone

Eventually we’ll end up with Huberdeau - Lindholm where both players are going and it will be glorious.
I agree. I wonder if Sutter is leaving Huberdeau with guys who can't finish as well to get him into a shooters mindset. Then throw him with Lindy and let the two of them go to work.
Markstrom with a very good game from what I saw, only catching the third. Bad giveaway by Manfiapane but the guys focused and got the win.
Watched the goals and nothing weak at all by Markstrom, hopefully he builds on that.
Is it just me, or were thee some pretty obvious missed called in the third that should have put the Flames on at least one PP?

Best game in a little while
Lots of positives to take from this game
The biggest two for my eyes were that, yeah, the Flyers aren’t that great. However we didn’t play down to that.
And
After the giveaway that lead to the 3-2 goal, we didn’t panic.
I wonder if Sutter is leaving Huberdeau with guys who can't finish as well to get him into a shooters mindset. Then throw him with Lindy and let the two of them go to work...
No. Sutter will leave these combinations intact because the top line is doing very well and Huberdeau with Backlund looks just fine.

Maybe Huberdeau's best game so far. The goals aren't coming for the line yet, but the chances are increasing every game. They are going to start producing here pretty soon.
Hats off to Coleman with a really strong game. Likes Weegar's game.
Shame for that turnover by Mangiapane, because the Flyers never had a sniff of a scoring chance the whole game. At the time of the turnover, they were 9 minutes into the 3rd and Philly had one or two weak shots generated. It was a really strong game defensively - all the Dmen were intercepting passes, closing space, and breaking up plays all over.
Rarely tested, but a solid game from Markstrom regardless.
Lots to be encouraged about. The confidence is building.

This team is facing something it barely had to last year. Lot's and lot's of adversity. They seem to be comfortable in one goal games and figuring out how to react when they lose the lead ,sometimes multiple times per game. Get rid of the mistakes and I think they will be a stronger team for dealing with all this early.
