Wills continuing to be a big ol 'nothing burger' when it comes to opinions.

"If the team knew what Wolf was, they could trade Markstrom"

...yeah, well - you likely won't get to know what Wolf is until you trade Markstrom, because Wolf needs NHL games (and lots of them) to develop his NHL game so that we can see what he is.

Trade Markstrom. Now.

Would've been nice to squeak this game out considering they have the Sharks lined up next. Could've been a lengthy streak that got them into a berth, not just a point or two from a berth.

Listening to Wills is and always has been, a waste of time. You already know what his opinion will be. That’s not worth listening to.

More concerned about Pelts than the game. Markstrom was awesome again.

Ah, well.

Some good goalie-watching, though.

Score flattered the Flames, Rangers are a good team. Continue the trade talk and maximum returns on assets including Markstrom if it's the right price.

Have to think Markstrom is as good as gone if not this season, then this summer. Over just a few weeks we went from hearing how it would take a major offer to even consider taking it to Markstrom to the Devils and Flames being deep in discussion.

Time to freeze those trade assets in Carbonite. Tanev with yet another scare today. Teams know what they're getting by now.

I'd like to keep adding Mangiapane to trade scenarios. I don't think he's a Flames much longer either.

The problem is the air of pride that comes with those takes. The excuse making is also hard to listen to.

I'm not sure he realizes he's allowed to cover a team and still have his doubts about them. You don't have to wring moral victories out of every loss.

The Flames fans that are left and still listening to these shows have been through enough of it that they aren't dummies, and don't need to be treated as such.

Good game, we missed the net about 30 times. I'd have loved to see them pile on more shots, especially early as Igor really got comfortable as the game went on.

Not a recipe for success when you let the guy at the other end "ease" into the game with low quality shots and few second chances on the same play.

They set him up really nicely for the goose egg.

He’s played the centre position well, but you really see it’s limiting his offensive capabilities, how he’s able to generate looks for himself.

Good to see him generate a bit more today as the game progressed.

Ehhhhh...I don't know. If it flattered the Flames it flattered the Rangers too. Shesterkin had to make a bunch of primo stops at the other end.

That said, even for a loss, goos game by the Flames. Sometimes the other goalie is good too.

This is the type of team we'd have to play in the 1st round if it got that far. Which, if it's with Backlund, Kadri, Huberdeau, and the kids, would be a ton of fun to watch.

But it's not worth keeping the trade chips around to try and chase fool's gold in my opinion. This is the one year we control the trade market, and I think Conroy understands that.

He drives me crazy and I disagree with almost all his opinions but I almost don't mind it?
Having an eternal optimist heel is an interesting spin and keeps it from being a stale echo chamber.

Having strong opinions, as long as they're somewhat rational, can help keep it fresh.

It was hilarious, and almost unbearable, when Nault was on their too. Nault and Wills engagements got really awkward sometimes.
Steinberg is the voice of reason, Wills the holier then tho eternal optimist and Nault the aggro antagonist.

The Hanifin play at the end is exactly why I have wanted the guy traded. When the game is on the line or hes put in a clutch situation Hanifin does not respond well. It's like he goes brain dead.

Tough watching Pelletier get hit like that, hope hes going to be ok.
Hanifin didn't simply hand it over with a bad play. He was being pressured and had no options or support. Its just a play that the NYR came out on top of.

A player like Cale Makar probably loses that play a fair portion of the time too.

Thought the Flames were outplayed significantly. Score was close thanks to Markstrom. Considering the road trip and the competition, not a bad week.

They need to come home and put up a decent homestand now, not like the last one.

Pretty disappointed no one took a run at Trouba.

Some of you realize you are the exact same opposite extreme as Wills right?
