Maybe you'd hope Huberdeau could have won that battle but I don't blame his effort on that play at all, he was the only one that even tried while 3 other guys just stood around.
Yeah, I didn’t mean to suggest he had the puck and gave it up. I just meant there was no one to even shove it to if he won the puck versus two guys.

Yet didn’t you just know when the puck went the other way he’d be blamed?

Troy Stecher and the Coyotes just did this; Keith Tkachuk was traded to Atlanta then re-signed with the Blues. Can't think of other examples

edit. seems the Coyotes have done this a few times. Zbynek Michalek and Antoine Vermette re-signed with the Coyotes the summer after being traded at the TDL

Coyotes just did it with Nick Bjugstad last season.

Got Kesselring and a 3rd round pick for him, and then re-signed him.

Looking pretty shrewd now because Kesselring has been a great add for them.

Would make a lot of sense for the Flames and Tanev to do this IMO. Not like Tanev's getting an 8 year deal and needs to be on the roster to qualify.

It’s so dumbfounding. No shots is just inexcusable for his skillset.

I'd love Tanev to go and get a cup, then come back to pair with a young Dman.

I'd be open to it for Hanifin too.

Trade him, if he hits the open market and the big offers aren't there then maybe he'd come back to Calgary on a 7 year contract instead.

If you could get picks/prospects for Hanifin and Tanev...and then just end up bringing them back...that would actually be amazing.

Trade Lindholm and don't even think about re-signing him though unless the number is $7M at this point.

Feels like captain obvious territory to point out how unlikely the flames are to make the playoffs right now but that's a fear of mine as well, not necessarily Conroy but ownership. Perhaps unfair as ownership doesn't speak publicly and so hope that's wrong, maybe they are on the same page but have a bit of a history of holding on to vets for too long. Hearing Conroy speak I think he's been ready to rebuild for a while if he can find a trading partner.

Is that resilient? Or foolish.

They should have the 2004 jerseys as the alternates.
