This writer has a pretty compelling case why Lefty should be DQ'd for todays actions.

10 is such a great golf hole.
Were the galleries as obnoxious in person as they sounded on tv? I couldn't stand some of the guys yelling stupid stuff after every swing. It was amusing at first a few years ago but now it is out of control.

But if the course does dry out and the winds stay up, +5 might be the best case for the winning score. A winning score of +10 will definitely be in play.
Hah. Was going to reply with no way somebody doesn't go low and stay at or under par. Good thing I shut my mouth for a change.
And my revised take is that course is trash and the USGA a joke. And Phil should withdraw

We saw this back in 2004 when they let the course dry out, and it was like watching guys play golf on hardwood floors. I'm all for a tough challenge, but a tough US Open challenge usually means punishing rough and guarded greens. It sucks watching guys hit good shots and make double bogeys anyway. At the end of the day we still want to see these guys have a chance to awe us instead of looking like weekend hackers, despite not playing like weekend hackers.

Put some money down on some golfers to win the US open including Tony Finau, but the winner needs to finish under par in order for me to win any money. Gonna suck when he wins but at +1.

There will be some lower scores today.

Rickie shot a 65. Phil a 69.

Chances are the winner will be +1 or lower.

Other than Saturday afternoon, the course was a very good test and not overly different than most US Open courses. Shinnecock is just a really difficult golf course and when it dries out with shaved greens and the wind comes up, its almost unplayable. It is unplayable if you cant find the fairway.

Almost to a mn the golfers themselves said the USGA went to the line with the set-up but that the line was crossed for 4 or 5 hours yesterday, again because the wind was not expected that showed up.

Gonna be a really good day today Im thinking...lots of drama hopefully.

Still like DJ to come out of it, but there are a couple guys who could come from off the pace to win...Stenson, Reed, and as a longshot, Branden Grace.

Im pulling for Tony Finau myself.

I still think conditions could worsen as course dries during course of the day. Nothing like yesterday, but remember guys went low Saturday morning too.

Don't know if you'll need to get to under par to win. Maybe +1?

Yeah but pin placements are MUCH more forgiveable today, which alone should allow scoring to be better overall.

Fleetwood might shoot 61 at this rate.

If the wind comes up, like it's supposed to, he's going to win this. Then finally Johnny Miller can shut up about his 65 to win the US Open lol

Ho boy Koepka lying two in the bunker on the par 3 11th. With DJ safely on the green it looks like hes about to lose his 2 shot lead.

Out of curiosity - What's the allure of Shinnecock? It's very unappealing aesthetically and seems to look like a chore to play.
