Looking good, lots of question marks but if they're answered we should be okay. Would prefer Bouma and Ferland to switch. Each winger had better chemistry with the other center at various times.

Like the forward group but that defense is a bit of a mess.
Not sure how Grossman gets into the lineup in front of Jokipakka.

Not a fan of Hamilton and Grossman. Really need Hamilton to have a solid start and build confidence and I feel like Grossman will hinder him. Guess seeing 3rd pairing opposition will help a bit though.

So we have a slow dman on every pairing. Great.

Love the forward lines, that top 9 could really be rolled nicely with each line being a threat.
Not sure about the defense pairings (get the logic but we'll see how it plays out. REALLY not sure about Grossman vs Jokipaka but I'm not an NHL coach so what do I know.)

Grossman will get exposed if he's caught out there when McGiggles is.
I'm happy with everything else though.

Maybe the Flames are worried about the Oilers size on the forecheck and that's why the defensive pairing for this game.
Personally, I think the strategy against the oilers is speed, because outside of Eberle, McDavid and RNH, that lineup is pretty slow looking.

We have a great Dman on each pairing as well, which is much better than having the slowest third pairing in the league IMO. Do you remember the travesty that was Smid/Engelland?

Don't understand Grossman for Jokkipakka. Kevin looked pretty good in the preseason games I saw anyways..

I like Jokipakka. But I think they're opting for toughness. Oh well, if it backfires then you go back to Kevin and the regular d-pairings. Hartley tried to spread out the D like this before too. Did not work.

Truculence. The Oilers have some bulk in their forecheck now with Lucic, Pouliott, Maroon and Kassian. Grossmann is going to be a lot harder to play against in the corners than Jokkipakka for this game, and pairing with Hamilton means he won't be totally exposed against speedier players.
I expect to see a bit more roster juggling like this based on opponents that maybe we did with Hartley.

The love for Grossman right low is Gross.
Here's what the oilers are rocking on D:
Klefbom Larsson
Sekera Russell
Nurse Davidson

Only worry is McDavid exposing our one weak dman on each pairing.

Yes, I remember but this time we can correct that by taking out Grossman and adding in Jokkipakka.
