Well, if you shave his face and get rid of his long hair it is a remarkable likeness.

But I agree. Strange.

Weird prediction: the battle ends up back at the saviors compound and Negan is backed into a corner where Simon is and he grabs him and eats him to complete the circle.

Found that season finale a little bit of a let down. Not a fan of the angle at the end either.

The big fight was yet again underwhelming (at least in a more entertaining way with all the guns backfiring), not surprising because they've historically taken a cheap out with every hyped up conflict, but I do really like the outcome. Keeping Negan around is a good move given that he's the best character on the show. At the same time the Saviors vs Rick's people was getting old and had to end.

Of course there had to be a little cliffhanger, and so we get the group of mutineers. Felt like something out of a cartoon when they talked about biding their time, I actually laughed. But Jesus in on it, really? For being the pro-life guy that helps Morgan see the light, that's really odd.... what angle are they playing exactly? Eliminating everyone that wronged them and banishing Rick/Michonne?

I can foresee Negan getting broken out of his cell mid next season when the mutineers make their move to try to take power. Rick's side will want to keep him alive to keep their dream of civilization going, and he'll prove himself to Rick to be trustworthy when it goes down if only to save his own life from Maggie's group. Then we'll see the dream team come together when the next outside threat comes.

Also this episode solidified for me my liking for Dwight over Daryl.

I was expecting a big-ass, gory, take no prisoners style battle. So in that respect it was a little anti-climactic. But I enjoyed the episode overall, and I thought there were some interesting surprises.

Spoiler!

I was ok with that episode personally. They kind of telegraphed the outcome to the battle an episode or two back, but I still enjoyed it. Seemed like an appropriate resolution.

Wonder if we’ll see a big drop on viewers next year without much of a cliffhanger? This might be a good time to jump off the train.

Things are going to slow down a lot I bet. More character building, more outside world exploration mini plots with walker obstacles and the odd teases of more outsiders. I can see a lot of Rick and Michonne talking out loud about their life troubles to their friendly cell shrink Negan at the end of each episode. At least that's better than some of the other pointless recurring character interactions we've had in the past.

I'm just looking forward to the walkers becoming more of the story line. They spoke of the size of the heard; hope that means that they go back to what made it interesting to begin with.

I feel cheated. They should have just killed Negan off.

Why? That would be horrible. I think Negan still has at least another half-season worth of good story arc left. They do need to step up the other characters a notch now though. Daryl has gotten flat.

Hopefully Maggie slowly poisons him in prison.

I disagree..they dragged the Negan thing on way too long.

I don't get why they set it up so it seems like Maggie is the next villain now. WTH did Michonne do to Maggie anyways?

I am hoping next season opens with vibrant community(s) and focuses on the struggles they face with the "herd" and or walkers.

Wow talk about ultra lame. Back firing guns? hahahaha. and why would Negan even pick up a gun? Not a single of these rednecks fired off a shot before they got to the hill?

Sooo....no word on that helicopter? How is another group, living right next to the dump, presumably with some sort of airfield unknown at this point?

I think the helicopter people don't live "right next to the dump".

But I thoughts are that the helicopter people start to be an issue for our happy group somewhere around 1/3 into the next season.

I don’t think Daryl, Jesus and Maggie have any intention of doing anything to Rick or Michonne. They just want Negan but know this will cause a divide.
