Isles have a better home ice advantage at Nassau. Its weird how they are changing venues mid playoffs.

Likely has something to do with the Barclays Centre having more Suites to bring in revenue. But from a fan perspective it is a curious switch.

I'll say this for Carolina - they don't get in much, but when they do, they make ####ing noise.

2002 Finals
2006 Champions
2009 Conference Finals

And I'm pretty sure every other year they're done by Christmas.

Hope Ferland gets back in and cements a nice retirement contract for himself.

Isles in 6. I think it would be hilarious if they went on a deep run while the Leafs were bounced in round 1.

Was just going to comment on that. I once saw a game broadcast from directly overtop and this is almost as bad.

Hockey is on SN1. The rest are the Vlad Guerrero show.

Interesting goalie interference penalty call when the Isles score. Could easily argue he was pushed into Mazrek.

An even more interesting call on Staal on the Faceoff

I'm not sure whether to put this in here or the GMG thread, but that frosted flakes commercial where the guy wants to shave his beard and they convince him not to because superstition? They're supposedly watching a playoff game... and the Canucks are in it.

I mean, that's just sloppy.

Van Riemsdyk gets a clear stick in the face. They call nothing. Now they see he's cut. They call 4 minutes. WTF just happened? I mean they got the call right, but how do you retroactively call that? Is it just the linesman can call a 4 minute high stick but not a 2? I'm not clear on the rules about that... I'm also confused as hell.

From my understanding, I’m pretty sure the linesman can only call the penalty if the guy is cut and it’s more than 2.

It's a weird rule. One of the only penalties a linesman can call. But once he calls it they'll give the full four minutes if blood is present.

So basically the offending team goes from missed call to game altering PK after an official huddle.

Pretty remarkable.

There were 10 OTs in last year’s playoffs.

Already 12 in this year’s playoffs.
