Especially considering that Vaughan is up 1-0 over HFX at the half.

HFX is killing the game, lots of fouls (by both teams), taking time on the ground. You’d think they were the amateur side playing the CPL side with their time wasting

The second round match-up - assuming we get there of course - is interesting because June 5 and 12 sees the first days of major equestrian events. Seems like the home leg would have to be June 4.

HFX is through by virtue of away goals.

I believe it is Andi Petrillo calling the YFC-ASB match and she is doing a phenomenal job
I’m enjoying not having colour commentators

What a boneheaded play by the Pacific defender.

I realize that Pacific's best player is out for the season, but their next biggest players Issey and Haber are trash.

We chanted "turn off the taps" when they came out. Hope that worked.

I really like the Brown - Bitar partnership. I thought this was Brown’s best game of the season. He was confident and really taking the match to the defenders. Great game by everyone out there, the score flatters Pacific really. Cavalry was so wasteful in front of goal

Agreed. Brown has looked good all year, but this game he was doing a lot more attacking runs. I haven't been impressed with Malonga so maybe Bitar will give him a better partner.
It would be nice to see Cavalry not let teams back into the game in the second half - seems like every game the first half is spent entirely in the attacking end and then in the second half we're defending most of the time and counter-attacking to get occasional chances.

It's been a while since I've done a weeknight game. I'm exhausted. Time to make it 7 on Saturday, against a Halifax team who lost to Vaughan yesterday, and has to fly across the country.

Another game, another bad ass photo of the supporters group. This was after the Buscher goal that put Cavalry up 2-0.

I went to the game last night with a buddy who had a spare ticket. I am not a soccer fan; I find it hard enough to watch World Cup.
I had a blast! First of all, watching live is so much better. You get to see the plays develop more, and get a real feel for the skill involved in making the ball curve the way it does. Also getting a feel for the football like strategy in field position.
I was in section 203 and there were a few British guys in the section that made a great atmosphere. (If possibly a little PG-13 rated.) Some chants and taunts- just a great time.
I also appreciated some of the little things. Mostly local beer (Big Rock) along with lids that don't make the beer foam up. (Take note Saddledome.) Simple but good food options, including the hot dog guy actually coming up to the stands.
tl;dr- if you aren't much of a soccer fan but get a chance to go- do it.

With the exception of gridiron football, almost any sport is better live than on TV.

I still haven’t tried the food at Spruce Meadows, but my buddy got the bratwurst yesterday and it looked pretty good
