That was so good. I thought ok maybe we will get to see Luke standing in the background or something when he goes to see Grogu, but to get all of that training sequence, the transfer of knowledge etc.. amazing.
The parts between Ahsoka and Luke were perfect as well. "I'm a family friend" and telling Luke he is like his father, only to have Luke smirk back looking satisfied. It's nice to see him have that good memory of his Dad after all that.
And then on top of all that they have Cad Bane show up, lol. Like are you serious?
Episode 7 is going to be bonkers.
Very, very satisfied with that episode, especially Filoni getting another chance to play in the sandbox with characters he created.

I'm for de-canonizing personally. I don't care how messy that is. Just knowing where Luke ends up as well as his academy is sad to think about.
I feel like you could have the post-OT shows going for several seasons apiece and perhaps eventually converge and culminate in a movie when it feels justified to go back to the big screen.
Disney isn’t going to de-canonize their own property. Personally I’m hoping that future series and movies will move away from the Skywalker saga and come up with brand new characters and stories. Make something that takes place far in the future so that they don’t have to keep going back to the same old well again.

I think that's what they're trying to do with these characters. They just needed to address what Luke was up to, otherwise those questions be lingering for viewers. I think once they address questions related to the OT characters, they'll begin to move away from them and set up a new compelling story.
I think the syndicate and spice trade conflict is going to be an ongoing thing as well as Thrawn.

I didn't mind the way the Jedi and even to an extent how Luke ended up by the time of the rise of the first order.
Its easy to blame the Sith and the Dark Side of the Force. But the Jedi were a engine of misery for the GFFA through the whole history of the Republic. It wasn't intentional, but their stiff necked arrogance and dogmatic refusal to see the whole picture of the Force created the Sith and then the Jedi's war like approach to them as well as dedication to the eradication of the Sith caused everything that happened that was bad in the galaxy.
Luke was right, the Jedi needed to die out. The Force literally needed to be left alone.

That was awesome! Got some new questions ,like how does Ahsoka meet Luke? And will we see how Boba got that notorious dent? The pieces are present and pertinent to the plot for that dent.
Yoda dropped his lightsaber fighting with Palps, so this must mean he built a new one on Dagobah? Or if it’s the original, then it’s just like how recovery of Anakin/Luke’s blue one is “a story for another time…”
It’s such an awkwardly impractical weapon for Grogu, even miniaturized it’s longer than his entire body. I wish that the standard issue laser sword wasn’t the mandatory weapon for Jedi of all species. There’s got to be a better way of using the Yoda race’s inherent strengths that doesn’t involve jumping around like a coked out frog and having to get super close to strike with a tiny melee weapon.
Anyhow having a convincing Luke in broad daylight is such a huge step. We’ve come a long way from video game cutscene Tarkin; now they just have to hire a mouth/lip specialist to perfect the whole package.
