Hell yes! King was on Eddie Trunk recently and King has the new album about 85% done. Can't wait! The Blu Ray Double concert DVD is coming out this year as well.

I am getting the blue ray for sure, I try to collect live shows. I only wish there was a dvd carousel that would play random scenes.

Radio stations have started playing the lead single "Rats" off Ghost's upcoming album today. Can't provide a YT link which is staying up for a while because they are deleting everything quickly, but you'll find ways to hear it if you want. And it's fantastic IMO, catchy but also with a ton of interesting guitar work.

In terms of the imagery, they are apparently dropping the Papa Emeritus bloodline and go with Cardinal Copia instead. Probably not the final look, but he's been portrayed both in black and red robes so far. Pretty cool too that they had a red cardinal bird in the "Square Hammer" video (at about 3:27 below). Foreshadowing done right!

there it is ... freaking awesome. The riffs are pretty cool, some Maiden and Ozzy vibes at times - which is never a bad thing. The album called "Prequelle" will be released in June.

Also Breaking Benjamin have released a new album today. Sounds great too.

I really like their music, but their whole image shtick is really stupid. They're a listen-only-never-watch band for me

Yeah I like them. They have their own sound and style. The image thing to me is no different than Slipnot or Avatar.

I've heard that quite often in regards to Ghost. Completely understandable too, they are certainly not for everyone.

Personally I'm a huge fan of the "image shtick". I love the music in itself, but the imagery is what sets them apart from other bands and makes them interesting in a way. It's just theatrical at the end of the day and I always love it when bands don't take themselves too seriously. They are fun and a break from the norm, and I certainly enjoy that.

On a completely different note, Mark Tremonti is releasing another album this June too. Psyched about that as well, he's become quite a good vocalist over the years.

Honestly, it's the music itself that I find lame more so than the imagery.

I think the bland heavy metal/rock sound is a big miss for me.

If not sounding like every other metal band is bland then I like bland.

Yeah Ghost is pretty damn unique IMO, pretty far from bland. I mean Cirice is a true masterpiece.

They have already put together a list of songs that are pretty much perfect and in my opinion are already classics. Listen to the following if you aren't a fan (just off the top of my head):

Year Zero
Elizabeth
Square Hammer
Cirice
He Is
Absolution
Spirit
Ritual

Just discovered that Sleep (finally) put out a new album on Friday. 4/20. Pretty on the nose.
Looking forward to hearing it.

Agree with devo22. Breaking Benjamin's new album is really good. Red Cold River is one of their best songs in a while.

I need to know as well, we are planning on hitting the ship for noonish, but we have no idea if that is too early. We are under the impression the show is starting early, we don't know if that means 2 or 4 or what. We will be way too drunk arriving at the ship at noon.

We should know after the 10th as that will be the first show of this lag of the tour. ticket master still says 4. but now google is saying 7:00 because that's what the links on the Slayer website indicate. Hard to say.

I think a 4 start in that venue makes for a long evening. Too bad we can't get an outdoor show.
