Seems like it. When this was mentioned in one of the Reddit threads, someone who works at the ER that handled most of the cases from the New York attack said the same happened at their hospital.

Jeez here is the video of the confrontation.
I can imagine being the police office in this situation, what restraint.

From 1 person confirmed dead to 9 just like that. That's devastating.

Either they've got a better source than everyone else, or a worse one. I'd speculate it's the latter, but there's always lots of confusion in the aftermath of these things.

Yes.

Police dont know if this was a targeted attack or random. If it was targeted and the target survived, then that person requires protections wherever they are. Since they are injured and laying in a trauma/er unit, thats where the lockdown will take place until an all-clear is given.

He drove down the sidewalk at 60km/h for over a km, eye witnesses were reporting seeing 3 or 4 people killed in their vicinity. I wouldn't be surprised if he killed 9 and injured another 20. I think this is worse than the authorities are initially reporting.

We've seen Islamic Terrorists pull this stunt throughout Europe and in the USA so unfortunately it was only a matter of time until we saw it here.

We also saw a white supremacist terrorist pull the same stunt in the US last year as well.

I think there are enough idiots out there that we can't really state yet which group of idiots this guy is representing.

Looks to me like he was trying to coax the officer into shooting him.

The cop deserves huge praise. Seems as if he was one of the first on scene so it isn't as if they Toronto police force had a chance to bring in their veterans or anything. I have to assume the guy was telling the cop there was a bomb in the van and he was going to detonate it with his phone in an attempt to be shot.
