I know quite a many Jets fans around these parts, and a decent group
You're lucky then. You would think the Jets were going for their fifth straight cup with most of the ones I know. And then there's that "We have the best fans in the world because when the Jets first came back it was pretty much impossible to get a ticket into our 15,000 seat arena" attitude.
This is going to be one hell of a series. I honestly don't know who to pick. The teams match up so well.
Nashville has the edge in defense, and maybe experience.
Winnipeg has the edge in size/physical play, and pure offense from their forwards.
Jets are red hot and the Predators have been stuck in 1st gear for a while now. I will know how this series will go after the 1st game. It should tell us a lot about how each team is at this moment in time, and that's all that matters in the playoffs. If you get hot at the right time, you can go a very long way (see Ottawa last year).
Putting my feet to the fire, my gut says Winnipeg in 7.

I think the first 4 games will be a fast hitting tilt with both teams trying to throw knockout punches but Nashvilles experience and Rinne should be able pull through.

Preds in 5.
Wish it could be in 3 so i dont have to see the Jets on my tv screen longer than needed...but Jets are pretty good and will give NSH all they can handle.
I hope Romanuk isn't calling this series as that series against the Wild was hard to listen to as he forgot he was supposed to be somewhat unbiased. Wasn't impressed with the Predators in their first series but I will still take the Preds in 7 games.

It'll probably depend on who wins Game 7 on Wednesday. If the Leafs win, Hughson will probably call the Toronto series in the second round and Romanuk will get the Jets. If the Bruins win, Hughson probably gets the Jets series.

I wasn't impressed with the Predators in round one. They are going to have to play a lot better against the Jets or this series will be over in 6 games or less.
The Predators were in control of all but one game by a pretty fair margin against the Avalanche. If not for Hammond completely playing out of his mind in game 5, the series would have been over very quickly. Nashville also faced a much better opponent in round 1 considering all the injuries the Wild had sustained before and during that series.
This Jets/Preds series will be one of the best matchups we've seen in a long time.

Not much difference in their GF and GA this season.
People talk like the Jets are the reincarnation of the 80s Oilers.
The Jets were amazing at home all year, and scored a tonne in Winnipeg last round. Their dominance was probably compounded a good deal by the fact that Minnesota was missing key players as well as the fact that they are pretty awful on the road (FYI the "unstoppable" Jets scored only 2 G/GP in Minnesota in round 1). By contrast, Nashville's record is a lot more balanced, and they were easily one of the best road teams in the NHL all season. Nashville will have the home ice advantage this round, and I think Winnipeg will likely need to win all their games at home to win this series. I am sceptical that happens this time.
