I would hate this hiring passionately. If he hires Peters - a coach that has nothing going for him - after all the crap we've had this season with GG, my liking of Treliving's hockey business sense would be at zero.

Yeesh. I don't know who Andrew Miller is, but if he's accurate about anything here I'm not too excited about this hire. The 5 pages (yeah, one of those 'articles') are 'Lack of energy', 'Naming co-captains', 'Misuse of Jeff Skinner', 'Frustrating style of play/lack of ability to finish scoring chances', and 'Team is not getting much better overall'.

Have to think Peters was Trelivings first choice for coach but was otherwise employed when Tre hired GG.
He used the down season, and Peters sudden availability to make the change.
Hopefully it works out.
I'm tired of cheering for a losing organization.

Seems like a play for Jack Hughes, probably need to make a few more moves to increase our odds, but this is a good start.
It would be a shocking move to not at least look at some of the more experienced coaches out there, with vastly better track records.

I don't know much about Peters so I popped over the the Canes subreddit so see what they had to say. He is described as a great Xs and Os coach but who is terrible at in-game adjustments and such. They even specifically mentioned his poor time-out usage and such. Sounds exactly like someone I know. Oh Lord please help us.
