A great time was had by all, and we drafted what we all think is a really strong team. Thanks to Bingo and the guys for pulling this off and putting in all of the work, while the good Captain got to sit there, stuff his face with awesome wings, ribs and pizza and pretend that he knew what he was talking about.

Boomer and Rhett were great hosts and it all went to a great cause in Kidsport.

Thanks for inviting us out Bingo! I had a blast of a time. Getting to hang out with some prominent CP members at a draft table and discuss strategy as the picks went on was a great experience.

Since no one's posted it yet, here is Team Calgarypuck:

Patrice Bergeron
Ryan Johansen
Jake DeBrusk
Derick Brassard
David Backes
Carl Hagelin
Rick Nash

Charlie McAvoy
Mattias Ekholm
Zdeno Chara
Kevan Miller

Tuukka Rask

Thanks to everyone for coming out and representing the site. The event was well run, and our table was on point, no delays, no drafting dead players, ineligible players, or players that had already been selected.

We got three of our top 15 from our list which is a great result for a draft with 14 teams x 12 players.

From there we did our best, got scooped a few times, and ended up with a few more Bruins than we expected, but all in all I think we'll be in the thing if they go two rounds, and win it if they go three.

That Boston / Tampa series is going to be pretty good theater (assuming both teams advance round one)

I bet Jiri pushed for McAvoy. He loves that guy.

The only player I really wanted was Marchand, but the team that got him probably wanted all the other Bruins we got. For every point that guy gets, we probably get two from our other Bruins, plus we have Rask.

Plus we get to cheer against Toronto, and (assuming the Jets and Preds go through), the Jets. I like that.

Thanks go Bingo for setting this up as it was a good time. Our team may not appear that impressive on initial inspection but you really have to see some of the other teams for perspective as there were some pretty awful picks. That said in a playoff pool anything can happen so the team that went all on the Jets could win but even the first 7 picks prior to our pick of Bergeron where you typically expect some no-brainers there were some head scratchers.

I imagine there will be a website or maybe a page on the Fan960 site.

On Sunday we projected that it would be a Preds/Bruins final, so for our "list" we placed the highest value on players from those teams.

It was a pretty consensus affair, the McAvoy decision. Playing top pairing for the Bruins. Played into the decision to take Big Z later on.

There were some pretty "Ah ####" moments though when we were 1 pick away from our 'ideal' guy... and then the schlubs picking before us nab him.

-Marchand went just before we took Bergeron
-Pastrnak went just before we took Johansen
-Palat went just before we took Backes
-Justin Braun went just before we took Kevan Miller
