Leipzig coach should be canned. Late into injury time needing a goal they get a corner. The keeper comes up. They take a SHORT corner. Ball doesn't get into the box and Marseille takes it 90 yards into an empty net.
no forward was close to being offside - there where defenders behind them all the time. The goalkeepers position is irrelevant.
There has to be 2 people in front of them, whether one is a goalkeeper or not.
The guy who received the last pass looked way offside from the tv angle anyway.

you're right, it's close. Forgot about the need for a second defender behind the ball when the goalie goes awol.
I was thinking about this today and I wanted Bayern in this draw. They were thoroughly unconvincing against Sevilla and the Bundesliga is done and dusted so this is where they typically falter.
And Roma are on top of the world right now. That was the one team I didnt want to face. Bayern and Real limped into the semis where as Liverpool and Roma roared into them.
That being said, at this stage of the tournament you have to be able to beat anyone.
The Liverpool/Bayern Final dream is alive!

I dont know what to say about that. I dont really know anything about him as a coach.
he's done extremely well with Frankfurt this year. But their setup is the complete opposite of Bayerns attacking style - Frankfurt like to sit behind and punish teams with direct and quick interplay up front. Whether Kovac can a.) gain respect in that locker room and b.) adapt to Bayerns expectations and style ... well, I certainly wouldn't be too optimistic about that. They'll still walk the league of course, but internationally? I don't see it at all. It just feels like this job will be too big for him.
Bayern have done a horrible job with this search for a new coach. They spent months trying to persuade Heynckes to continue and therefore missed out on Tuchel (he's going to PSG), now they had to scramble and pull a rabbit out of the hat. They were much more professional without Hoeneß.
I’m not worrying about Bayern’s coach for next year yet (give me a month). I don’t know much about Kovac other than his Frankfurt team seems to be punching above their weight and they play a defensive style. Whether or not that is due to his preferred style or the players at his disposal remains to be seen. The fact that he was their 4th or 5th (6th?) option is a little concerning, I’m not a fan of how Hoeness runs the team...
For now Bayern still has Jupp and hopefully the team will be able to give him a proper sendoff. Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like Coman will be coming back anytime soon from injury so hopefully the rest of the attackers can make up the loss
