Because, and I realize that this is hard to understand, most police don't want to take a life if they can help it. Especially in circumstances like that when every second will be analyzed.

Just because it likely would have been a 'justified shoot'...doesn't mean the officer feels any better for having to use that option. That it doesn't still give them nightmares.

We need a major realization that there are groups that are radicalizing people, intentionally or not. And we need to shut them down. Not all are violent movements, but some people go in and get way too deep.

I have posted in many threads where people were posting flat out lies that I called hate speech, and they simply didn't care or were convinced they were telling the truth. It is a big problem when much of this garbage is taught on campuses. We are either part of the problem or part of the solution, but many can't figure out which side they are truly on.

Because, contrary to how America often makes it seem, not every cop has a Rambo complex, and very few actually want to deal with the PTSD and emotional trauma of actually killing someone. Even if it would satisfy someone else's revenge fantasies.
