Big update for Strava on iOS and Android. I don't hate it but I also haven't really dug into it.

What did they do? Was it the old Under Armour trick where everything you found useful in a fitness app is now a premium feature and ads galore?

Looks like the update is mostly improved design and discovery. Unfortunately, it also looks to be more "social media-y". There's a post feature now that lets you write and post photos that are unrelated to an activity. Could be like status updates on Facebook.

I do like that it's easier to switch between feeds (Following, You, Clubs).

If you're part of an active Club, you can also see posts within the feed. That could be good or bad. We have CP, but other clubs likely have fewer options for interacting with each other off the bike.

Yup, pretty fun cruising at 40 uphill. I felt like I was on an e-bike!

Yeah that sucked, and sucked hard. I was amazed I still averaged almost 23km/h over the ride. Heading southbound on 11 Street NE towards the Sun building I was probably leaning a good 15 degrees over into that wind.

This morning is much better.

I was almost blown over when I hit the 96Ave connector trail. Went from being able to do 40 on the flats to 11km/h going into the wind. Good times.

Lots and lots of branches on the paths this morning. I'll probably stick to roads on the way home.

Another vote for Woolie Boolie socks. Wool's like crack for my feet.

I did a quick count on bike lights during this morn's commute........about 1/2 had inadequate lights or none at all. So dangerous, both on the paths and on the road.

I don't know if the "Bragg Creek Barbed wire incident" ever made its way to this forum, but there was a slightly funny ending. Guy fled to Germany.

Cochrane RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a man charged with fraud and public mischief in connection with a fake crowdfunding campaign to cover his medical bills.
Stelianos Psaroudakis, 37, was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday for charges related to an incident in early July where he claimed he'd run into a piece of barbed wire strung across a trail while riding a motorbike.

BTW, that's a terrible article. "Riding a motorbike"? Uh, no, he claimed to be riding a mountain bike.

Diamondback kills it with this ad. Takes me back to riding my BMX in the 80s.

I still have a Redline frame in my garage, bought it in 1982. I really should build it back up again.
